exactly, i tried to make a PhD, but quitted after almost two years. All i ever did was some bullshit work for my professor, wich was mostly giving lectures (you have to do that in Germany). I can tell you how pesky students can be, i specially hated the big classes, i had one class with about 250 students, that really sucked, but it was nice in the end because i was the one giving them the grades, the professor only signed them (he was lazy)
Oh, and i had to pay almost no tuition (like 60 bucks/semester) for my university education, it used to be free in Germany
