Am I the only one to think that the tube analogy is OK? I have a CCNP certificate, but what do i know? Oh, well the bandwidth is limited, and the issue of internet neutrality is concerning bandwidth issues. I think the bush wanna be tried to demonstrate that the internet as it is today can't handle this enormous bandwidth taxation, and putting stress on top level routers would induce latency issues with normal internet usage.

Of course, what would the companies use massive internet bandwidth for? I'm not familiar with the issue, but I'm guessing non of yous guys are.

You're missing the big picture here.

Just the other day got internet was sent by his staff at 10 o'clock on friday, he got it yesterday.

Do you get it now?

Its not really the tube bit thats the problem, its the rest.. the talk of personal internets, the fact that at one point he tells you that the millitary has its own internet (which by that he clearly means WAN..) and that rather than using everyone else's internet people should do as the millitery has done and go make they're own? Does he not realise people PAY for the internet, they lease the line they use.. He talks as if America own the internet, all of the websites, all of the connections.. He doesnt grasp the fact that these "tubes" and servers are owned by millions (or billions) of people all over the world..

THAT is the problem Razz.. The video above picks on the easiest thing to make a video/jokes off, not that its the worst part of the guys speech.. its just the easiest to create something from as not everyone understands networking/computers.. But in reality the guy making the speech doesnt have any clue about what he is governing, so how on earth can he make a valid judgment on how it should be governed?

Anywho.. Ill stop ranting now.

It's the same with so many legislative bodies, they don't have a clue about what they're governing, they're out of touch with modern developments. I wonder who decides who's qualified for this kind of thing. Did he just stand up and say "I've sent an e-mail through the internets before!" and they gave him the job?

It's like theres some sort of stigma against people under 40 when it comes legislative positions.

Wait a second. doesnt the military have its own internet? like the original internet? I read that the internet was a us defence department communication tool back in the 70's and was developed specifically for military communications...and then in the 90's, that guy brought it to the public
Im prolly wrong tho Razz

I'm going to go to each of your houses, wake you up in the middle of the night and DEMAND you tell me the square root of pi to the 100th digit percision! Why? Because you are all mean to the poor ol' Ted Stevens, and also you'll see my point.

"The movies streaming across that that internet and what happens to your own personal internet? I ... just the other day got internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on friday, I got it yesterday. Why?".
Withouth wasting massive amounts of brainpower translates to:
"Whilst the servers are clogged, your personal use of the internet might be impared. I just yesterday got an email that was sent to me by my staffers much earlier during the week. I'm appaled and outraged, and also am 83(!!!) years old, so cut me some slack if I can't make Martin-Luther-King-like speaches on demand, and say internet instead of email every once in a while. Jeesh. Why are you teh homosexul Joh Stewart?"

I don't know dude. Maybe then they should have someone who is younger than 83 talking on their behalf (Is he really 83?, if that is true he should be partying it up before he goes -and not working. Sometimes working is overrated at that age unless one has too)

To run a company you need to have people who can make a good speech up on demand, and to have a true sence of what they are talking about. Sometimes these guys have to pass the torch Exclamation to the younger folk.
