Basil-Brush, in your first example you're still drinking for social reasons, so thats fine, and in your second example it's only two beers, so I don't think thats anything to worry about. It's when you're getting pissed while alone (ala Injurious) that it can lead to a problem. |

Drinking excessively leads to alcoholism. Your body becomes addicted, just like it gets to nicotine when you smoke. Then you require alcohol like you require a daily intake of certain vitamins. It’s fucking sick, man!
Y’know? Alcoholics are fucked up. 
Also, getting pissed while alone is an entirely different problem. I won’t get into that.

When drinking, I enjoy most from the social part of it- drinking with your friends. That's why I never drink alone, cuz it's not fun.

You have no idea how fun it is until you try it. It just makes the day a whole better. Sure having a social time is fun and all, but come on... sometimes you just get sick of their faces and you want to beat them to little shits.
Drinking alone is... like masturbating.  You just enjoy it. You need more people for the complete experiences... but come on... who doesn't like a lil solo action once in a while?
so, don’t bash it. You all know none of you are going to murder people when you guys get drunk alone. You’re not going to commit suicide or something dastardly like that. There’s nothing wrong with just wasting a day away with a bottle of good rum or even tequila. Some days are just meant to be wasted.

I like drinking alone sometimes too.
Not like pounding back the booze. I like to grab a case of beer or a bottle of something and drink throughout the day.
Its a nice buzz and you get good sleep at night

I often will have a couple of glasses of wine alone. What am I going to do, get someone off their ass and come over so I can have someone to drink with. With me when I go out I am always driving and I drink NOTHING- ZERO when I am driving. The only time I do have a few drinks is when people are over here. Sometimes I have a really bad day too fighting with different people here and there, and when I get home sometimes I need that drink.
I don’t think it is a good idea to get pissed on a reg basis by yourself.
I think I might buy some wine tonight actually. Along with some herbs.
