I havent had an appetite to eat for well over 12 months now, the doctor didnt really say much about it since i was physicaly fine, he ran some tests and they shot a blank. He suggested it may be psychological but i dont beleive in all that bullshit. Theres nothing troubling me, i meen i can still eat just fine, i still enjoy my favourite foods, but i can go all day without eating and not have my gut rumble or anything Sad anyone got any ideas or perhaps a clue on how to revive my hunger?

Sounds a lot like me, I rarely eat yet I feel sick a lot of the time.. more so when im hungry. I'm pretty sure mine is caused by bad nerves/anxiety (by that I mean being a nervous kind of person)..

We'd probably die a lonely death Razz! Laughing

edit: Forgot to write other things haha..

I always found drinking cold water helps for some reason, also going out and getting some deep breaths of fresh air. Meditation was also a good way of getting rid of the anxiety, so that would work, but you don't really have time to do that every time you need to eat Razz. My suggestion would be to look into the possibility of seeing a mental health expert to see what they think the problem is, if it is anxiety then in most cases its very easy to treat with a low dose of anti depressants (seriously, this is not as big a deal as you may think).. If you can sort it out, you will probably find your life is a lot better, I have plans to go see my doctor soon to get put back onto medication.

I think it's only a problem if you start loosing weight, other than that i wouldn't worry too much. Syn is right on the medication, some anti depressants make you really hungry, especially tricyclic antidepressants, but they have the most side effects as well.

I think i had the same problem... it used to be in time before some big tests or a concerte that i had to play in, but afterwards it got better. Though sometimes i also get this "lack of apetite" thingy and it's quite annoying, but i think it's because of the heat and etc, i drink too much to leave any space in my stomache. And also check yourself - Think about food you really like - Would you eat it now?

If yes, then go eat it! Very Happy

I suggest a lot of exercise. This will get rid of the stress hormones and increase your apettite.

I dunno, usually when i come back home after hours of intense basketball, i don't eat at all. All the room for food goes for the drinks :/

Well you are not hungry if your abdomen muscles worked a lot and they get stiff. Take a shower, relax a little and you'll get hungry trust me. Compensating food with drinks is crap since drinks usualy don't contain the proteins and fats that are needed for a healthy diet. I recommend you drink nothing but water once and see if you get hungry afterwards.

Also you should post your weight and age.

but no matter how much I eat, I dont gain weight... Only from exercise. Iv been to MANY fat-diets, none worked. I even tried the "supersizeme" diet, nada weight gain, just alot of toilet-time Smile

I usaly dont eat breakfast or anything before I goto work... Im off from work around 8.oo pm only after that, I get the days first real meal. I do however drink ALOT, I cant go 10 min without a half liter of water/soda/whatever by my side.

@waterGem

I don’t think a lack of appetite is a big problem unless you start to lose a lot of weight. If you concerned you aren’t eating enough you could always try on of the meal replacement drinks like boost. Force yourself to drink it. It will help increase your calories.

Swimming always makes me hungry. Well I am not really swimming, more like bobbing around on a floaty mat in a wave pool. I am starving when I get out, sometimes I have to get out because i am starving. I run out to the snack machine in the lobby and buy those cheese and cracker packs.

I usually eat a meal once a day, usually around 3 or 4 pm.

I have a nauseous problem too. I made a thread about it in the void.

I wish I had a problem gaining weight. Not that I am a cow tho.

I think maybe caffine can postpone the appetite but I don't know for this for sure. If someone is drinking a lot of coffee that could effect their eating habits. It could also make someone more anxious/nervous.

@whoKnows
That is cool. Someone else who is 33.

I eat 6 times a day. I wake up early everyday, about 6, to eat about every 2, 3 hours. I eat like an animal because I work out like an animal. I go to the gym 4 times a week and I swim 2 times a week, when you do that you will eat. My body is like a jojo, I can gain weight real fast and lose it as well. Really glad about that, it's shapeable.

That is funny, I never heard someone describe their body as shapeable. Makes me think of play-doe or clay.

I think you meant yo-yo.

Yes I mean a yo-yo. It's shapeable, for example last summer I used to do alot of running and cardio, I was very defined, physically. 69 kilo's I had back then. Now I have 83 kilo's because I am focussing on mass. But in the summer time I am always weigh lighter because it's hot I eat less and I sweat alot and when you sweat you lose weight. I know guys of my age that work out like I do yet the results are minimal.

I think best example of your ability would be Christian Bale, Pizda2. See him in American Psycho and/or Equilibrium, then The Machinist, and finally Batman Begins.
