I think that's a normal thing for hack n slash games, no story, just kill kill and kill some more. The only hack n slash I ever enjoyed outside of Diablo II LOD was Abomination, which used guns against zombies.

Abomination was a turn based strategy game, hardly hack & slash.

I like DS2-BW more than Titan Quest. Sure, TQ has top graphics, but the quest- and storyline in DS2-BW is far more interesting and sophisticated. All these nice details (even the Aman-Lu arena and these light switch riddles are again there, well done) and the segmented side quests make it more motivating. The absolutely boring sidequests are the main weakness of TQ.

Generally I like RPGs with a party more than these with 1 character, another reason why I would prefer DS2. Finally I think the item drop rate in DS2 is better and well balanced. There is no need to make hundreds of farming runs (like in TQ) to get halfways good gear, in DS2 "normal" playing is sufficient to get good items (OK, there are a few places where you should save and reload to get the best stuff... but its not as frustrating as item searching in TQ)

well, if you have imported a ds2 party into bw, you simply ignore 99% of items dropped, even money
