But something did make me wonder if the US version is censored. When you fail an escort mission, a short cutscene plays, showing the civilian dying and theres one where the zombies are tugging at all the limbs of the lady's body, stretching her out. And she's yelling and it looks like they're about to rip her arms and legs off, but then the scene ends. I think maybe they cut the end part off.

I can't imagine they would censor violence in the US version, the US is usually very liberal when it comes to violence, so if they didn't get it I doubt any other country would.
I think it's something sexual thats been censored, if anything has been censored at all.

i really am not bothered about censorship it really doesnt affect the game that much and i dont know why everyone is still going on about it, its been clearly confirmed that UK pal release will be uncensored like the US release for a while now.

The game is great, and at first i thought the time limit/saving system was kinda stupid. But after playing it more and more, i really think they took the right approach with the timelimit/save system.
The entire way the game is setup really got me drawn into the story.

I played it for less then half hour so cant really comment on the game too much, but I do have a major problem with it. It's hard to describe since this is the first time I had this problem. In some parts, more often then not, and especially in dark places, the blue pixels get really bright, and oversaturated. You can see it the best when the game fades out to black, and many blue pixels stay on the screen, although the rest is black. I know its vague, but I'm wondering if anybody ever had the same prob.
btw. Im not sure what res, but the game is running in HD.

It does sound more like an issue with your display rather then the game. I've not had a problem with it, and i've not seen anyone on the forums complain about it. Although i'm sure it's not unique to you.

just started playing this one. I have a question abt the NTSC scene release from IHX. When you hit B to talk to someone does any sound come or only subtitles. Also when the radio first went off when you go in through that hole to the roof the first time, I only hear static and the subtitles show up saying "this is otis blah blah..." Is that normal?

The blue pixels thing can indicate corrupted GPU/RAM. Especially if the pixels move and are attached to the 3d world textures.
If they're just small holes between polygon faces, then that just indicates the vertexes are split and a gap is formed that lets the default bg color of the 3d engine flow through, which is a problem with the game/engine itself not your system.
Dead Rising is one of the most technically sound and polished products on the market, it doesnt deserve any flak from anybody imho.

hmm, I played the demo on a friends X360 some month ago, and now when i got my own, i also got a RGB-composite-whatever cable, for best picture possible on a non-HDTV. On my friends box/tv, i couldn´t read the text as many others claim being impossible, but with my box and that cable, it´s fairly easy to read.

I dont know if Dead Rising lets you use 50hz, but if you dont have PAL60 switched on then it will give the game more than 100 lines of pixels more resolution vertically over the PAL60/NTSC/480i counterpart. The scanlines themselves can make the text unreadable on 480i as opposed to 576i

So far this is my pick for "must have" 360 games. If only it had online modes.
Thanks for the map link.

What's the full game compared to the demo? Been thinking about buying this, but wasn't impressed at all with the demo...

Only think about buying it if you can live with the rigid time constraints (read a review) + if you're NOT playing on a SD-TV (because of the small text problem) + if you're NOT playing with a VGA cable. I wish I could enjoy this game but the constant tearing that you get when you play with a VGA cable is killing me. It's unbelievable! I bet no one has ever seen something like that. Even in the smallest movements in cutscene and during gameplay there is really ugly, heavy tearing visible all the time. It completely destroys the nice looking graphics. Some people say they only have this problem since the autumn dashboard update. I don't know but I wish Capcom (or MS) would move their lazy ass and release a patch!
