Totally english by just changing some files from the english to the german one, the keyfile in this is strings.

french version jou only need to change 1 file (strings)
german version same file and you als need all audio files

doesn't work unfortunately. At least i couldn't find the files needed to let it work, maybe it works i'm not sure. Think version is too diffrent.

The german crack doesn't even work properly with the german version on some PCs. I had strange graphic errors when I used the crack. I have to use the clone release+Pr0t.St0p.

including the framerate problem that prevented the disc checking routine from working smoothly together with the game,
Maybe someone with the english version can check what protection is there with patch 1.2
PC: Yes. Console: No.

And there's already a 1.2 patch out there, fixing framerate issues, so it already needs to be re-cracked. Dammit, I really wanna play this one.

Patch is beta according to gamershell.com link posted above. i guess thatswhy its not touched yet.

Works fine for me but i wait for localiced portugese version till i buy it.
its a cool game.
Protection: Tages SDK + Custom. I wonder why Ascaron used protectCD in german version and now Tages SDK.

well on gcw they say
DarkStar One v1.0 (v1.0.1270) [GERMAN] No-DVD/Fixed EXE 25-05-2006
Play Instructions:
Install the game - Full Installation.
Replace the original DARKSTARONE.EXE, DARKSTARONE.ORG & VOYAGER.DLL files with the ones from the File Archive.
Play the Game!
Did you copy that DARKSTARONE.ORG? I think they reroute ascaron custom checks trough the voyager.dll to the original exe. As soon as i delete the exe i get fucking gfx shit in main menue and game like the whole textues are jumping around. As soon as DARKSTARONE.ORG is copied too then all is fine.

That's the error I also got. Everything was jumping around like crazy. And yes I copied all three files. I tried it several times. I made no mistake. It seems only very few people have this problem. I've only read of two other people who had this problem.
edit: I've read a few more forum posts about this now and it seems this problem is very common. So my comment about 'very few people' was wrong.
