Cracks for me, clones are allright if they aren't hardware dependant (tages clones come to my mind).
I also prefer cracks because that's easier to explain to a noob friend than "you have to unplug these cables, mount it in daemon tools and run program xxx". Instead of "use this serial, copy /crack and play".

this site is about scene releases. Scene releases don't include clones(well, i mean by the book). So i guess that cracked releases are the better ones for ease of play(although, more and more games need patches nowadays, and you can't apply a patch unto a cracked release, you have to usualy wait for a cracked updated executable). The two modes of release have both advantages and disadvantages. One is easy to play, hard to update, the other hard to get it started( you usualy need third party programs) but easier to update...
I voted for cracks just because the scene is about cracks. Clones are out there because there was a period when noone could crack the latest protections. Now it seems that no protection is safe anymore...

Cracks...definately.
I don't need to read a book, or install 500 apps, and then pray to the monkey Gods that the program may run.
Most clones must be run at 11:31pm sharp, on a full moon, with some esoteric music playing in the background - only after spending time to open your machine and unplug every damn device inside of it - and if you're good - the monkey Gods will allow the game to run.
</sarcasm off>
Seriously speaking, it wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many bad clones. Another thing that yanks my chain are releases that only work on USB.

Nice to see that sanity prevails and cracks are in the lead.
