under "replay value" i understand the ability to discover each time you play new content, or new elements replaying the original story.. So i guess that would be the Role playing games.. The FPS are quite straight and linear and each time it's all the same... and i can't imagine replaying any FPS more than 1-2 times.. But i've played Diablo II about 9 times.., Sacred isn't bad either..

yeah those too but you needed to install from the first dvd a patch to activate them becoz the cd version didn`t included them and would not play them , anyway wonders me why this version did spread to the net , maybe the abadonware scene didn`t like remastered bootlegs or maybe it allready spread though newsgroups ? or private torrents .

deus ex is a spectacular game... but I dont think its worthy of rose tinted glasses. it was great the first 2 or 3 times. after that I was done with it.
MMO's generally seem to have the longest lifespan.

Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3. All of them have great replay value imho. I've played all of them for at least 3 times. You can always discover something new (easter eggs etc) and it's always fun to sneak past or take out these uber stupid soldiers.

i could never get into system shock 1. by the time i first played it, it was like 2004. waaaay to ugly and the controls too awkward.
it'd be nice if Bioshock was a real sequel to the system shock games. unfortunately the only thing they have in common is shock in the title.

Eh?
From IGN:
Developed by Irrational Games, the minds behind Freedom Force and System Shock 2. BioShock is a first-person action RPG set against an alternate World War II backdrop. It seems the Nazis are up to no good again. This time they're combing soldiers with all manner of nasty creatures to form genetically altered mutants which are as creepy as they are deadly.
Combining a spine-chilling setting, sci-fi themes, RPG elements and a deep storyline with first-person action, BioShock resembles System Shock 2 in several ways, and although BioShock does not take place in the System Shock universe, it can be thought of as a spiritual successor to the series.
And also:
Hailed as a spiritual successor to System Shock 2, BioShock is high on our list of "oh my goodness that looks sweet mommy can I please touch it" games.

resembles fine but has nothing to do with the SS games, which would be much better.

I'd say Rome: Total War + mods and expansions
I must have played through the game 20 times now and its still fun.
And Im currently playing Mafia for the 3rd time.
Cod2 had a replay value for me. Must have beat it 10 times. But generally, fps's dont have a good replay value.

Still the best destruction physics I've seen in any car game around. More fun than every car combat released up to date |

BW2 and Need for speed are among the few games "I" know that are actually set up to play more than once and bw2, they advise it in the info and guide hehe. I would deffinitely say role play games too because you can play diff characters. I know my man played his need for speed twice because he needed to get through the game to open up all kinds of mods that made the racing part more fun. In the second time around, he had the fully modded out car with all of the options and played the game that way.
