I had a really freaky experience this morning at approximately 2:10am! I was downstairs making a cup of tea, stirring it and waiting for it to go the colour I like it to be when I heard someone or something whisper my name. "Daniel?" I responded with "hello?" but I heard nothing in reply. It sounded like it came from the kitchen where I was but there was no one there! I stood there in sheer shock and tried to comprehend it. It seemed like a seriously long time before I realised it sounded like my sister but she was upstairs in bed asleep. Then I had this really bizarre sensation of dread and several times I shuddered but it felt like nothing Ive ever experienced before. I have no idea what it was that I heard or where the noise came from. Im quite sure I didnt imagine it and I wasnt hallucinating and it most absolutely and definitely wasnt a dream! I dont do drugs, I dont smoke anything, I havent had alcohol in weeks but I cannot come to any logical explanation. I did do a Ouija board in our house with a couple of friends but that was years ago.

Its hard to define what a ghost is, but i think there is more to life than what we see...
(even dogs see more than humans)

edit: btw, are you living in one of those legendary England castles or something
Its very weird if its the first time you have heard it. Some houses are haunted, thats different. Family, friends died resently?

A funny story; A sister of a friend of mine was on a vacation in Greece. Noone said anything about that the hotel room was haunted. She had a bad experince that night. After that one of the guys who worked at the hotel told her about the story of that room, and some disturbing stuff who happend some time ago. Anyway he said, you should never drink in a place there can be 'ghosts' because you can take them with you home (alcohol works like a magnet) so then you can get ghosts in a perfectly normal house without any disturbing history Laughing Meh, strange stuff

If you think that there are energetic vampires, it is one of the the symptoms of schizophrenia in psychiatry. I think the same with ghosts or aliens. Smile And weird sounds dont mean anything, it could be canalization for example. I voted: no.

lol no I dont live in a castle! lmao. I live in a three bedroomed semi detached house and it must only be about 20 years old! My sister has joked about it being built on ancient indian burial ground but I cant possibly take that serious! Its just ridiculous! lol.

Could be what for example?! Canalization!? Ive never heard that word before but dictionary.com tells me that that is the formation of canals and I fail to see the relevance to the current topic! lol.

I could go as far as saying that it was a voice I heard not a sound! Ok vocals are sound but I heard someone whisper my name ffs! lol.

I meant the drain, sewerage, pipes sounds. Razz
I hear somebody shout my name too sometimes, when I walk in the street. Usually its crowded and lots of kids screaming. Its just sounds mix together and it may sound like someone is calling me, but its not. You have to take it rationally.

Im not going to believe it before i see it with my own eye.

I have heard stories from my family off ghost walking down the stairs hence to a clearence in a house. The baby they recently had was experince choking and other mystrious things. Also after the whole "go out of my house down the stairs things" it showed that the house was built on/around an old viking town/burial ground.

I voted no

lots of kids screaming? you hear a lot of noise when you are in the street! It does depend on what time it is I suppose but there were no sounds at the time I could have confused it with! The pipes in our house are not a problem at all. Irrational is the only thinking I have been able to do! Nothing anyone has said or that I can think of could be the cause of what I experienced.

Your own eye? Do you only have the one!? I would feel really bad about that if you did so hopefully you dont and it was just a typo! lol

Man! Thats pretty messed up. I sure hope the baby choking was nothing caused by anything paranormal! I didnt see anything but I did hear and Im not an old man before anyone questions my hearing! Im only 26 lol.

Edit: Actually Im almost 27! Next month!

if it happens again and starts to get more serious i d seek psychiatric counselling. Else i d say it was a misinterpretation of your auditory system. At night your hearing senses are sharper, because there is much less background noise making the little noise there still is open for (mis)interpretation by your hearing, especially since you say it was only whispering.

And no, i dont believe in ghosts. But i dont rule out their existance either. It s just that i havent seen compelling evidence for it.

My mum once told me that she had seen the ghost of her mum or father (cant remember which) not long after they had died.

she also once told me about the time when she worked at a co-op supermarket where on there breaks some nites the staff would do a ouji board upstairs , one nite aparently the glass they were using went flying off the table and carried on spinning like crazy all over the floor for half a minute.

on the nite when my wifes mum died aparently she heard knocking on her bedroom window which at the timer was 7 floors up in a block of flatts, but she told me at the time she was to scared to open the curtains. shes convinced something was knocking on her window though, and its impossible to knock on unless you can fly.

i personally have never had any unusual experiences but i dont see why my mum would lie to me.

Well I wasnt talking about you. All you heard was similar sound to whispering. It happens sometimes to me too. Sometimes brain understands sounds not properly. For example if you look at the rocks on the beach etc. you could see human shaped faces, same with sounds.

What was the event that made you believe it?

Laughing skid! You're such a loon! Laughing UFOoes! OoooOOoooOOOOooOOOOooOOOoooOOOOOO! Hehehe! Little green men in top hats probing only drunk hillbillies! Laughing It's all cool! I love that shit! But ghosts, ghouls and goblins... no way no how! I'm afraid to sleep with an open closet in my room Laughing so if I added another set of ghastly monsters to my daily routine I’ll never get a nights sleep. Laughing

Spirits aimlessly wandering through our mortal realm only to find us with our pants down? Having oodles of invisible spectators eyeing you while you masturbate? No thank you! When you die you’re worm food! When you wander into my bedroom while I’m enjoying myself, and you’re dead, I’m gonna go ghost busters on your pale invisible ass and then brainwash you into thinking that this tiny pecker, you so kindly rattled your set of chains at will, appear ten times bigger! MUWHAHAHAHA!

I don't believe in ghosts as they're shown in movies and books, but I do believe in some sort of energy that goes forth after you die. If you ever had someone close to you that died you probably know the feeling, this person is standing behind you or you smell her/his perfume, stuff like that.

I had some weird, freaky experience when I was about five years old. My mom told me about this since I obviously can't remember. Me and my mom went to my great-grandmother's best friend's house (very old lady). I had never been at the place before, as soon as I entered the house, I pointed my finger at one point on the wall and asked "Where's the cuckoo clock??" This woman was amazed because there had actually been a cuckoo clock hanging there for years but it was only gone for a week or two for reperation. Tho, there was no mark or anything on the wall that could point out that the clock had been hanging there. Confused

Had some more of these experiences but I dont want to make this post too long Laughing

I also sometimes had some predictive dreams, and unknown images flashing before my eyes.

She was asleep upstairs! No way could she whisper in her sleep and I could hear it all the way downstairs! Besides it sounded like it came from the same room I was in which was the kitchen!

your losing it dude. saying a ghost spoke to you is like saying you saw Father Xmas or the tooth fairy or some shit.

If you're a young guy with a vivid imagination but knows what's real when push comes to shove then fair enough. Otherwise go see your doctor.

lol seriously. unless I did see Father Xmas or the tooth fairy I would never say that I did, especially on an internet message board and even if I did I still wouldnt say it lol. I didnt see any ghosts. All I heard was my name whispered. At 27 I wouldnt say I was young lol. Im not as young as I used to be but yes I do have quite a vivid imagination and I have never seen or heard anything before that wasnt there so Ive never had to question it. Unless it happens again or I see or hear something else related to it I wont be paying my doctor any visits lol
