Hey so if I have the Half Life 2 purchase card thing, will I bet able to preload it then download the full version from steam? Anyone know?

Hey man theres two stages in receiving the game, downloading it, then playing it...gets the first part out of the way early and I love it.
I got in just now, and its going fairly fast, probably going to take 1-2 hours to finish at this rate (0-1.6% as I typed this)

yea. it wouldn't make sense for Valve to use up 2gbs of space on a user's computer for an unfinished game that will be delayed again. Half-Life 2 is upon us.

just wanna let you know that you can extract the files with GCFScape. There are materials and some dll's and the exe in it.
No Level or Sound Files are in it.

how many time they answered not yet pikachu..not yet. when the time will come you will know...you will feel it and may the force be with you.
and now ladies and gentleman the time is finaly come and the net is full of: H A L F L I F E II pre-loaders;)

umm why is valve screwing themsevles over lol..by today everyone will be playing it..cuz itl get cracked once someone downloads it from there server.

Well it isnt every single file u get, when u preload it... The Last files will be downloaded at the Release.

Not really considering there is nothing that can be played in the current pre-load.

The preload is not only for those who have bought the Ati XT cards as many incl me stated before. It's available for averyone but if you don't have the ATI coupon you need to buy it throught Steam or enter the CD key after getting the boxed version from the store. My preload is done by the way. I wonder if they make another preload to finish the rest after the release. That would be very smart. 1.01 gig of the game is not that much as Gabe stated the game would be 3.5gb.

Yup. Saw it too. Almost had a heart attack. This was a bit unexpected as everything at Valve has gone pretty down lately but It's about bloody time. Damn I can't wait for this. I'm so excited.
edit: This would mean that the game would be released slightly after The sims 2 if they can't make it out faster.
