Wonder if anybody has the ENGLISH settlers 2 next gen demo and can ZIP the EN , ie the language dir.... the german release doesnt have the english translation files, so in theory just copying over the building/menu english translation file should work just to put the text
for building+menu into english

omg!
I spent so many nights playing Settlers 2 back in 96-97 that I almost got kicked out of school - I didn't do what I was supposed to do.
I just hope that they won't fuck up the gameplay...

No they're not, you can copy the index files from the demo. |

I'd assumed this release was a joke/nuke as I'm finding it impossible to locate... Anyone actually TRIED this release? or is it all rumour?

Also got it working
But can anyone tell me what procyon is and, if it's not a request, where to get it.
I mean, daemon tools an asr.exe links are posted on nfore forums, so procyon is about the same...so it's not a request.
Never heard of it
/edit GOT IT, it's in a golf release included, gonna try the program now...

So exactly which files do I copy from the internation demo to the german full release?
In the data map are alot of folders, don't wanna screw anything up.

Doesn't work indeed, just tried it also.
Perhaps we could try copying some files and if that works, more and more to see which file makes the game crash

Well i had a go at the language hack that was used in the demo and it just wont work... Copying over the voices has made half the game settlers speak english and the other half german Laughing
I think ubisoft has in some way stopped people from hacking the translation files.
Also has anybody tried changing the BUILDING dir over from the demo to the german retail?
p.s im still playing german would just prefer the buildings to be in english, why do germans all sound like mini hitlers Laughing

Hows that for generalization 
Be that as it may, I rather enjoy playing the german version as the first settlers I played "Settlers 1" was in german aswell and incidently, my 'first' german teacher  so it's truly a trip down memory lane. |

Damn fine game. They really tried to convert the old maps. But it has its slowdowns when you have settled a great territory. Too many men and gimmicks are not welcome to the engine. Or I have to get pass the 3 gb ram.
