You can never know how someone is in private. When they are with you they could be binging and then not eating when they are alone. They could be eating a ton and puking it up. Who knows?

People are self conscious about that shit. And when No-good Nigel tells Skinny Susan she’s fat and she should do something about because it’s embarrassing she’s going to starve herself just to appease her man. It’s fucking disgusting.
Or when you have a Hot Heather who’s a cheerleader and Skinny Susan asks her to be on the squad. Skinny Susan is only three pounds more than Hot Heater and you know what Hot Heather does? Judges her appearance and makes her feel worthless, so Skinny Susan ends up eating ice cubes cause she doesn’t want to gain weight.
Grrrr! Shallow people should be shot. They cause nothing but harm! They judge people on the outside and not on the inside Skinny Susan likes to read books, enjoy a good comedy and watch a Hugh Jackman movie but do No-Good Nigel’s and Hot Heathers care? FUCK NO!
Personality doesn’t look good in a picture! Personality doesn’t look swell on top of a pyramid! Personality doesn’t get your shallow boyfriend to notice you! Personality is only good if you want to open up a myspace!
Fucking bull shit! |
I find it funny people judge others and what society consider's 'normal'.
Media has never affected me, as far as im aware. Ive never seen a guy on tv and said '' oh, i wanna look like that, time for roids'. People should learn to accept what they've been dealt.
I always stay true to myself. I dress how i do because its comfortable and I think its cool. Im in shape because its good to be in shape and makes me comfortable with myself.
I dont see how someone could look in the mirror at skin bones and still think they are fat.
its baffling and tragic

You are affected by media, you just don't realize it.
It's difficult to explain.
The more you deny the fact, the more influenced you are. It goes both ways. You can say media has influenced you greatly, willy-nilly, but you won’t understand how.
The music you listen to. You taste in music. Your choice of clothes. You say it because it’s comfortable, but I don’t think you’ll sport a pair of pink slacks even if they were the most comfortable pair on the planet.
Your opinions and thoughts are indeed swayed through the media. When you grew up, books, radio just about anything. (notice how I haven’t said TV… that’s cause you’re OOOOLD )
Women are told, nowadays, that in order to be sexy they have to be thin. Guys, have to be well built.
And it’s not always through the media that this message is spread.
A guy dating a gorgeous girl and one day they decide to consummate. (hehehe) and he sees her voluptuous breast all glossy and wonderful then he sees her tummy. He laughs at her and how foolish she is that she thinks that she’s actually sexy sporting a two piece, Victoria secret, nitey. To him, women have to be thin to be considered sexy. She may have all the curves you might adore, but to him, she’s not appealing any more. They do fuck, she does moan, he does have fun. Next day she starts her diet.
Media influences you, your friends and everyone around you. You may think it doesn’t influence you, but your friends might and their friends might and so can that store clerk at that convince store. You can’t run from it. It’s fucking insane! Only way to escape the evil clutches of media, is to run of into the mountains and live in solitude miles away from any living soul!
Hehe.

I think a bit of a belly is cool, so long as the girl isnt uber fat.. I cant stand that as I'm a really skinny guy and would just look strange..

Skinny guys with fat girls are like bread and butter these days. I was at a subway with my mates and this Christian Bale from the Machinist was sitting beside Roseanne. Hehe. Spookie. But they looked happy together.

I wouldnt wear pink pants because i dont like the colour pink. All my pants are black actually. Work jeans, regular jeans, dress pants etc are all black and most of my shirts are black...i wear the colours i like
I know what your saying, media does have an influence on everyone to a certain degree.
But it affects others alot more than some.
Some people see some celebrity wearing something and they have to have it...which i think is ridiculous.

@syco & Waldo
I think for some women, like my friend, it starts off about body image but it becomes more about the obsession and compulsion. She knows how she looks but she is stuck and she can’t stop. It is a true mental illness.
I remember tho growing up, at the table her dad whipping some buns away from her older step sister. Then he told her she was getting thick (big) with such disgust in his voice. She was 13 and on the slimmer side, played tennis 3 times a week. After dinner he made her run around the block 3 times. I think my friend might do it because it makes her feel she has some control over your life.

I like girls who aren't skinny, but still have an athletic martial artist's figure.
I mostly am only attracted to girls that practice martial arts. Because then we'd always have something to talk about.

Maybe for some it will work. Not with her she fights it. I found out today she agreed to go back in so she will be ok for while when she gets out. Then the cycle starts all over again. She just has something to lose now.

People in therapy are sad I hated going to my psychiatrist.
I wish your friend the best. Compulsion sucks.

I do too. But when they pay for it, they want results and they don't care whether or not I'm satisfied.

There's nothing wrong with therapy if its needed. Sometimes it takes someone outside your family and friends to get you straight you know?
Or you could read jeung's books and become a therapist yourself

Do you mean i was disgusted or i am a disgusting person? To this day i still feel bad about the situations. I didn't tell them they were ugly or anything like that but we had to have the 'just friends' talk. I wasn't looking for a relationship and they were. Luckily both of them have since married now but i still feel like i did something wrong.

@fazlez1
I don’t think you did anything wrong. I think you did everything right. It is worse to go out with someone you are not attracted to. That would be the biggest lie of them all. Their husbands are probably great guys who will love them no matter what. How selfish it would of been for you to waste their time. When it comes to attraction, and love and all that crap you can’t help who you are attracted to. It is unique. Hopefull people make up their own minds about what they find attractive rather than allowing society to make up their minds for them.

You're disgusted in them, as in you did not find them attractive. Shallowness wouldn't even let you communicate with them. You're an all right guy. I too, often when I see a mutilated face and such, try my best to turn away, but once you get to know the person, paying 5c for a paper bag ain't that much.
fazlez1 wrote: | To this day i still feel bad about the situations. I didn't tell them they were ugly or anything like that but we had to have the 'just friends' talk. It makes you human to feel emotional pain. To worry. Etc. The prob is oft the pain is so malicious you just want to quit. And that isn’t fucking fair!
