Statistical Analyst/programmer here:
http://secure.cihi.ca/cihiweb/splash.html
I come here when I need a break from work, or when I have to wait for a program to finish running. It's better than reading the paper or going outside for fresh air, or whatever it is that other people do on their breaks |
Gov. people hard at work eh?
Its hilarious when you see Government construction...1 man digging the hole, 4 guys supervising common joke in the trades industry

OH, man. If you want to see Gov workers at there finest. Work in Canada Post sometimes. I was working on some of there automated scales one day. I think i saw like 1 out of 10 people actually working. And that 1 person seriously dragged there ass.
Dont know if this is a fact, or just a westerner rumor. But i have heard that over 50% of workers in central/eastern canada work at some kind gov job either public or private sector. Any truth in this?

In Ontario in the mid-90s, the Mike Harris conservatives gutted public service employees, and now they can barely function properly. The successive liberal govt carried on with it in the same state.
My gf works for the courts, and they are ridiculously understaffed. Basically what has happened in govt jobs (ontario anyways) is they have shifted all new hirings to 'unclassified' and contract positions. That means that basically all the old fucking lazy ass baby boomers stay in the jobs, while younger people move on to find something with a little more job security (and not to mention benefits). Being short staffed, and heavy on old people means increased job stress and decreased performance.
The only reason there would be more government jobs in Ontario is because there are, well ... two governments here -- Ontario and Canada. So yes, it's a misinformed western rumour, kind of like how Klein 'saved Alberta'

Hey, you keep away from my buddy Klein. The way to "Save" Alberta is for us to keep all our money. But Alberta never needed saving. Well i guess there was Trudeau and the bloody NEP.
I would be happy with two governments. But it would be one for Alberta/BC/Sak and one for the rest of canada. hahaha
