|
 |
Once I connect to the internet, it starts off fast and then gradually gets slower and slower until after about 30 mins it feels like i'm back on a 56k.
This is only a recent problem, and if I disconnect and reconnect it goes back to dsl speeds. The problem is when i'm downloading a large file and it takes over half hour.
Has anyone experienced this before? Anyone know how to solve it?
Thx for any help, I didn't know which section of the forum to put this in because the others are about hardware, or programming.

Sounds like it could be a faulty network card. (or drivers)
Is there any way you could try the connection through USB?

Yes sounds like your NIC is failing (hardware) or your drivers are failing. Are you using sp2? By the way this is the wrong forum for this. This should have been posted in OS help.

I bet you were rooted, you should use an utility that provide an account of the data flowing through your line, such as DUmeter.

Hey AnimalMother thanks for mentioning Tweakmaster! When I read you used it I downloaded it to try it out. Man it really made my internet faster. Get double the downloading speed and web pages load in a second.
