Because for me they're going to bring a step up from the games we are used to.. (not saying that some of the others on the list wont do the same.. but these for me.. are going to rock!)

ELIZ: Well, Fable 2 might be fun be the other games simply doesn´t suit my tastes since they involve shooting/driving. I almost only play RPG:s since you don´t have to be alert like fuck with the controller every second. I like to enjoy my games slowly with a beer, not having to watch out for enemies 2000 times per minute ^^

Lost Planet. The demo blew me away. The rest I don't know enough about to judge. Most are just hype still. And I don't get excited over screenies or pre-rendered vids anymore..

Assasin's Creed.
Just saw a ingame footage demo, demonstrated by some developer of Assasin's Creed. This is what I call a real next-gen game, it completely blew me away and kept me staring at my monitor with open mouth... real innovative gameplay that hasn't been done before.
Games like Gears of War look really nice visually, but I doubt if it's original or has a real next gen feeling to it (besides the graphics). I'm also not waiting for games lkike Need for Speed, WWE, Tony Hawk etc, it's more of the same year after year.

If I had to choose just ONE... It would be Mass Effect. BioWare never fails.
I think many of the games listed wil be AAA titles.. Let me list the ones I'm NOT looking forward to:
Need for Speed Carbon (no... just no)
WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007 (Come on - give me Soul Calibur V)
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas (This can be a good game, I'm just fed up with Tom Clancy)
Call of Duty 3 (no....more... World War II.... ugghhh)
