Depends what you're into really. Personally I hate futuristic FPS's. Give me real world weapons and noobs to aim them at and I'm happy. But as for lasers and plasma grenades, well no thanks.

Dominions 3 is also missing. It's coming out today. Not that any of you would know it anyway, considering your 5 second attention span.

An alternative...AN ALTERNATIVE! FFS common! are we running out of ideas here! History is history and amen to that. I read the description I know its fracking supposed to be "alternative" Well I say only this...lack of talent and lack of new ideas. If you want to do an "alternative" game, well look at Bioshock for e.g. Now that's alternative for crying out loud.

That doesn't mean it can't be fun.
Here we are craving creativity and originality while at the same time we look forward to one sequel after another anticipating it's new features and graphics, I know you played Company of Heroes right?, theres more Heroes of Might and Magic 5, Unrealtournament 2007, Quake IV and theres most certainly people out there waiting for Command & Conquer 3, I mean come on just look at the pictures and tell me you wouldn't play it .
I will most certainly play Gothic 3 and Fallout 3 when they get released, I will play Medieval Total war 2 aswell. If you can say none of these games interrests you even remotely then I guess your right.
Oh and bioshock isn't alternative it's a natural evolution of what they did with System Shock 2 only with better technology at their disposal.
Whining about peoples lack of creativity while at the same time playing game after game set in the same era or same genre in the same series of games is hypocritical.

alternative history and alternative game genre isn't the same shit. cox u should be whining about lack of new genres rather than historical settings. as far only Darwinia and a couple of other acid junkie stuff can be called 'alternative'.

there is no definition for alternative game as far as i know. what you people describe is basic creativity and design which are very rare nowadays.. in fact the last creative and well designed game that i played was psychonauts.
