yeah well, i'm kinda a update freak, can't use a program knowing there's a newer version out..

I use for basic backup stuff, mostly burning plain data dvds.

For Data Discs: CDBurnerXP Pro http://www.cdburnerxp.se/
(even if its labled cdburner - it handles DVDs as well)

and for Images: ImgBurn http://imgburn.com/

Both work perfectly for me and the both are free.

Nero all the way Wink

use the usual places to get it and just dont update it... Most updates are just different design layouts and different icons etc plus like what Hfric said just to ban keys.

if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
half of all software updates introduce more problems than they solve
and almost always for unnecessary reasons
like bloating nero or windows or f-secure from their previous well working functional products into a mess of cute unnecessary features that take tons of space and resources, and are usually either disabled or works against the purpose of the host application
positive changes in nero over time are somewhere between slim and none
the installer is just 100 times larger

Using Pinnacle Instant CD+DVD without problems since a long time. It's version 7 but I am not a big fan of using the latest or newest versions myself. Still using Winamp 2.64. Very Happy
