No, the problem is once you get hit once you cant do shit since it attacks faster than the stun wears off.

Of course, if something with such long teeth dived into your legs you'll either become wide awake or stunned, it has you at a disadvantage right from the start, which is why you have to keep it at a distance.
Humanoids with swords or axes and do a flurry at you aswell succeeding in 3 successive attacks, that is why you have to hit and sidestep, it is not a diablo game although the clicking system might lead someone into believe it is, it's complexity under a layer of simplicity.

What do you want? a sword with 10 range like in oblivion? or do you use your brain and try a halberd or a staff on that creature?

The problem is, that enemys have problems with pathfinding (stuck in grass, tree or stones Very Happy ) or the attack like a flash. Don't know if its a combo or special move but its quite often.

I agree with the pathfinding, milten got stuck in a shed when he was leading me Sad. If the enemies catch you off guard and they seem quicker it's your own fault though, some might disagree with me saying it's too hard when the enemy can get the better of them, well I think not.

Gave it 68%! Is it that fucking bad or what do you say about that bulltest?

The most negative points are bugs! I think if you can fuck those bugs then it shouldn't be a big prob and the game should be great ^^ But 68....

The guy is obviously a moron, and I don't care if he's the biggest fan of the two previous games. Read what I have already said if you want to know why I think he's a moron, now I have to go back and feed my new Gothic 3 addiction.

Hmm, seems that Jowood is getting expert in buggy releases.
The Guild 2 (4Head) and now G3 :/
Patches are NOT plus in any game. Would you buy a car with promise that the back seats are going to be added ior fixed months later? Even day...
Well, lets hope it won't be so critical as in case of The Guild 2.

Has anyone with a non-uber rig tried the game? How does it run?

And does the game ask or a serial at gamestart like Spellforce? They blacklisted the serials with every freakin' update.

No serial here....
My computer is AMD X2 4800+ 2048MB Corsair DDR 4000 2xGeforce 7900GTX hooked to a DELL 2407 Screen at resolution 1920x1200 every detail at max, cache at max, running with minor stuttering when entering cities, otherwise it's flawless. Twisted Evil

Old personal rig - > P4 2.6 Ghz CPU, 1GB DDR 400 Ram, ATI 9800XT, AC '97

10 - 15 FPS normally but goes down to 5 - 10 during loading wich happens quite often and it also stutters alot during said loading. (All options on max, SM2.0, 1280x1024 Dept Of Field and shadows off though)

New family computer - > AMD-X2 4400+, 2GB DDR Ram, NV7800GTX, X-FI-Xtreme.

Have yet to measure fps on this rig but no stuttering and much better flow, though DoF and shadows causes lag when looking at the far terrain and on NPC's. (All options on max, SM3.0 1920x1200)

Turning down view distance and disabling shadows and DoF makes the game more playable, vegetation can also be lowered if needed.

Ofcourse model detail and texture resolution also improve performance and AA/AF do cause a performance hit if forced via GPU control panel.

Very scalable engine though.

Can you run it on medium without shadows on the old rig if it isn't too much trouble? I would really appreciate it.

p4 3.2, 1 gig RAM, nVidia 7800GS.

Running this game on 1024x768 everything maxed, FPS are ok'ish, turning off shadows/post-processing really helps, but of course doesn't look quite as good. Medium is probably the way to go on this kind of system, but eh. Eh I say!

Animals attack way too fast, once they hit you it's pretty much die&reload. Spamming right click/fast attack and getting a hit in first is the way to win fights, at least at the beginning. Orcish and human enemies are a lot easier though.

Game's a lot of fun, and if you don't buy it you're either stupid or, I dunno, ugly I guess. Yeah I'm gonna go with ugly. Ugly and stupid. Mostly ugly.

With all options on medium I got 8 - 10 fps in the starting city and 20 - 25 fps after leaving it, lowering the view distance and vegetation further and it was near 30. (NPC's and their ai is quite stressing for this rig it seems)

Unsure about CPU stress with this game but more ram does decrease the initial loading and helps with the stuttering you get during area loading and ofcourse a good graphics card will also help alot due to the rather amazing graphics. (High resolution textures, high polygon count and alot of shaders and effects)
