would removing the ide cables ala starforce games stop it from asking for the dvd?

Didn't work for me, and I don't use such fancy things like cd/dvd-roms, far to high-tech for me

Someone said that you have to mount the image on a physical drive.. makes sense, but doesnt work for me though.. still get the error..

Well, its works great with the save, thanks for that, and with eng subs and menus it pretty playable. Only thing I struggling with now it the fightingsystem. Even the easiests wolves can get some kind of spasmattack and do 10-20 instant attacks in a row. Oh well, I'll learn...
Runs great too, max settings, 1280x1240 and above 40fps most of the time. I'll buy this one for sure.

Looks like this Tages protection is hard to crack...
I'm still waiting for my copy but I would gladly try out if the method works but deleted the german image haha.
By the way, anyone played with this method for a few hours? Some people are saying the protection might make some checks which will crash the game/computer...and the game is already buggy as it is lol

Well I'm goingo to wait till it gets couple of patches and than buy it,..
I dont understand why nobody did not release english version,.. couse ive played with one of the oldest german images with VC8 rutine,.. Once i get it runing,.. when computer doesent hang itself,.. had to restart atleast 5 times,.. before i made it run,.. Gothic3 is quite stable,.. but could be far mor polished performance wise,.. And fighting is stupid, and unbalanced.. cose in one try I almost killed some reptile,.. and than run away to heal myself,.. he had maby 1/4 left,.. and when I came back to finish it off ,..he nailed me, totaly, and I died... then i retryed it 5 times,.. but now, I could not do any damage to it,..And the replaying part would be ok if it game loaded faster,..

From the videos i saw (and im basing my opinion only on those videos) it is screwed up, like the enemies keep attacking so fast you have to time to recover from the previous hit, so its kind of like an instant death.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

the combat is fine. my only gripe is enemies attack too fast, and knock you down pretty often.

Yeah but the thing that gets me confused is combat seemed fine in the developer video (the one with the guy commenting about combat) and I didn't see any real flaws except for some strange animations and collision issues, but the boar vid is totally different.
Maybe the devs are playing another version of the game lol

Lol mike, thats exactly what i said, wtf, it is a problem.
And the developers are trying to market their game, do you think they gonna show the game's flaws. People (on other forums) say its ok when you are fighting human oponents, but the animals are somehow bugged and do that crazy fast attack. (Didnt fight any humans myself) And now that i got that german clone to work (dont know what im doing as i dont speak german) i can confirm that its freaking bugged. Got owned by a boar that kept attack me very fast, and me clicking mouse buttons did nothing. Had to reload which took quiet a while, and then i killed it the same way itkilled me, i kept attack really fast using that weak ass attack, but it couldnt do anything against it.

I only really have a problem with boars, the other animals I can own. But even with boars, all you need to do is buy a spear or some other long ranged weapon and they go down 0-sec.
People need to start thinking, if they're having a problem killing an animal think of other ways to attack it apart from bum rushing it with a dagger. All these people whining how it's broken and bugged, maybe they should just buy a fucking spear and use that, or even better, use a bow or magic. It's not that hard for fucks sake.

Coudl anyone kindly tell me how to start from game save? I've put two files in C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\gothic3, use the gothic3.exe to open the save files? I've tried, but failed.

Typical fanboy thinking, its not the game that is broken, its the person's fault. It is a fucking bug, not a game breaking bug, just a very annoying one. Aside from those boars, i like the game and the atmosphere, but the problem now is i cant start the stupid game haha.

finally got it working too. dunno why people are complaining about performance, its running better than oblivion for me. when running around theres sometimes a small load stutter but besides that its smooth.

It's not even a bug though, it's just bad game design. It's not like there is an error thats causing the boars to go beserk, that just how the developers chose to make them.
If there is an enemy in a game that has an annoying attack, or that is extremely difficult to defeat does everyone start crying about how it's bugged or broken? I'm sure some bitches do. The rest of the people accept that an enemy has an unfair advantage and work around it, either that or just don't play the game. Boars are fairly simple to kill using the right tactics. Ranged weapons and weapons with long reach ensure there are no problems with them. I don't see what the big deal is. It's not even like you have to kill boars to progress in the game.
