Did any one here got this to work with the "Deluxebits" release, or am i the only idiot that tried it?
Getting the VDC8CLONE now any how, just wondering how many different fracking versions there is out of this game...seems to be a lot of crap floating around at the mo.

Hmm, maybe set Audio=English too.. have no idea, cant even get the game to run.. just resulted in my computer freezing, requiring a restart. Think i fucked up Windows too, so probably need to reformat some time soon  Damn release!

Text=English - this works only in multilanguage release (Gothic.3.VCD8CLONE-ST0N3D - like this example)
Audio=English - this works only if you have Speech_English.pak

The only "working" version for me is the Ston3d version!

The best option is to just invest in a bow. When you try to go hunting in real life, running up to the boar, bear, whatever trying to bash it down with a heavy sword wont cut it.. I belive the best way to take them down is with a ranged weapon, a bow for example. He will be down in no time. As the devs explained: The combat system in G3 is more about thinking then just buttonsmashing!
EDIT: I havent played the game though just read on loads of forums etc..

No, you got me wrong. 
1. Download the Reloaded/CloneCD release (or whatever) which is US/Securom. (When it's out of course)
2. Download the Speech_German.pak and put it in the Gothic 3 dir.
3. Change the language to German in the *.INI.
4. Play the English Securom version in German without trouble.

This german version is using a Tages/X-Protect combination.
(Tages is difficult on it's own but Jowood's X-Prot probably messes things up even more with all those disc checks and whatnot)
EDIT: Sorry, the US version is rumoured to use Securom.
(Could also be tages or even starforce for all I know though it's probably SecuRom)

im guessing that the Tages/Xtreme-Protector combination is the source of the performance problems many (including those who actually bought the game) are experiencing. Its really sad when developers go to such messures to delay a pirate release with a few days.

I don't think the copy protection has that much effect on performance.
Loading times however can probably be blamed on the copy protection.
(Long disc check at the splash screen and a check before the main menu opens and yet another check during the new game loading phase)
I use a external DVD unit so I really hear it when the disc is being accessed.
It is however a very demanding game hardware wise but I still manage to play it with quite alot of detail. (Aside from the memory error described on the previous page)

the copy protection doesnt have a direct effect on general performance no, but many are experiencing terrible performance on powerfull systems, and my theory is that somehow the copy protection is being a bitch as it constantly vertifies the system while you are playing...

Very strange! I have a 3500+,1GB and a GF6800GT and the FPS is great but i have some stutters because of my 1GB ram. If i had 2GB it will run good.

True that copy protection can interfere with the games performance but take Oblivion for instance, also has low performance and the game only uses a cd-check.
Not a good example I suppose and perhaps you are right since tages/x-prot has alot of custom checks and whatever else those system use.
We'll know for sure when the game gets cracked though.
(Since a crack bypasses or removes the protection system)
The game runs fine for me though.
(Using the more recent family computer it runs perfect aside from memory issues)

Right click on the disc icon in the taskbar and select one of the virtual drives then choose to mount a image on it and browse to the folder where you placed the image.
Alternatively right click on the VB file and chose to mount it in one of the virtual drives.
(Perhaps even double clicking on the file works)
