Is it just me - or are the "helicopters" really anoying? I hate the fact that you need to press the thrust button all the time or else you will start to lose altitude.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

You fly with a mouse there or what? If so i would not recommend it. just get a Saitek or something, not expensive and it makes it a hell of a lot easier.

Yea Ace, when you go through the ordering process, just before you pay it asks if you want the key emailed as well as the box game sent to your house, just the key, or just the game etc.
I chose just the key, the shipping charges are another £10 in itself, just take the key.
It's quality tbh, cheapest ever. Everywhere else is like $25 which is like £16 for me.

In my PoV this game only serves one purpose in my world, make the most stats crazy people go away from bf2 into bf2142 instead and hopefully make public in bf2 a better place.
I tested the demo of 2142 and damn, I didn't like the infantry experience which is the most important thing from me.
Dynamic ads is a bad thing too, I can't support that.

I fly with a mouse too, even tough i got a nice joystick. Dont think its too hard with the mouse and its just not practical to have a big fat joystick in your lap when you gotta eject and fight infantry :/

I did fly with a mouse - I will set up my seitek x52 for it laters. Btw, "not expensive"...that depends on..the x52 is far from cheap |
Naaa the x52 does cost a fair bit. I just use a Cyborg, does the job

Thing is that you have full speed or hover in 2142, Full speed is joy throttle forward no speed or decent is middle and hover is joy throttle back. Using a Joy makes it a hell of a lot easier to control this, never played any BF game which made flying as easy as in 2142...good or bad, well its a matter of taste I guess.

This was talked about a few pages back and I just wanted to post the full story and find out what everyone thinks about this new way of keeping track of what you do.
Battlefield 2142 comes with spyware
As Electronic Arts says, "It's in the game"
By Theo Valich: Wednesday 18 October 2006, 10:03
GAMES PUBLISHERS like in-game advertising, but Electronic Arts may have one too far with its latest endeavour.
A Computer Gaming World podcast reveals how retail packages of Battlefield 2142 come with a blurb to inform the buyer that the game comes with monitoring software that will be tracking your online activities.
"When you use the software while connected to the Internet, the advertising technology may record your IP address and other anonymous information," the packaging states. The technology then delivers adverts that may correspond to your tastes, depending on what the spyware learns about you.
"The advertising technology does not collect personal or identifiable information about you," it says. This, however, will depend on what you get up to online, of course.
Several game-related sites have their readers up in arms over this piece of paper, and many say they have cancelled their pre-orders of the game.
Publishers should perhaps ask themselves why over 15 million gamers are playing MMORPGs and are not interested paying for games in which they play guinea pigs for marketing companies.
