Doesn't work for me.
Installs Ok, but when launching it crashes after the movie. The crack has been copied over.
Dialog Box title=The Sims 2. With a red x and an OK button. No description.
I HAD the base Sims2 installed and successfully working as well as all other expansions.
But now if I launch any of those it says 'you are running the wrong version of The Sime 2. Please run The Sims 2 Pets instead'
I took a snapshot before the install, so I will revert to it.

Any1 else having this issue?

Yup works perfectly so far (but with cracks you never know down the line). I also have every other MAJOR expansion installed. It's very flexible at first glance in terms of designing your pet, particularly with the dogs. Impressed as far as it goes, essential if you are a Sims fan Smile

Compressed it's 765MB so it must be DVD.
2 CD release. The average sims fan can barely operate a video card that isn't integrated let alone a DVD drive.

Finally some men who dare to admit that they play it. Who the fuck cares what someone else thinks? Why waste the energy on bothering!
I love the sims 2, dont play it much tough unfortunatly, but i have every expansion and every stuff pack installed lol even the christmas fun shit Razz

I gotta say i was damn impressed by the animal behavior / animations (every single animation in sims 2 is still the best animations ive ever seen in a game, so fluid).
Tough i got shocked when the first cat i bought yelled and whined as much as my real life cat Very Happy
Then after just 4-5 hours of no food the game goes "YOUR PET IS STARVING, TAKE BETTER CARE OF IT!!". Sheesh, "Basse" is not starving, he's just on a diet!

Was stupid enugh to buy it as a kitten tough, so i had to enable aging for 5 days for it to grow up
Always play with aging off otherwise, i hate the sense of the entire game being a time trial.

Np. Sorry I couldnt have been of much more help. If you installed Sims2 from the 4 CD version maybe it is asking for the 4th disc from the original? Also try checking for updates after installing Sims2 before installing any expansions.

I have them all installed before I installed Pets, I just don't have the stuff packs. I do recall it might have asked me in previous expansion installations but not pets.

Really no use for a clone on a sims expansion since every time a new expansion comes out it installs in a completely new folder, so no copying over original exe needed and such Smile Good stuff

Got this for my sister....

It's a cool add-on but i get bored quite fast from the sims games, untill a new exp. comes out i got to try it.
Though there could have been more stuff in this exp. imo. like more objects for pets.

I installed it onto another computer and it worked fine.
My main computer had non-default paths for the main proggie and all the expansions - that mighta messed it up.

For those with the 'insert cd 4 issue' Just download the original sims2 cd4 and mount it when asked for it.

Good luck.

I know could do that, but I was hoping there would be a trick to fix it (+ most places got the dvd version)

Its the technology level. Most of the fans aren't gamers, so they don't have quality machines. They're still using old dell business machines with integrated graphics adapters to play this.

If they get new XPS systems, then yeah its not bad. The problem usually comes from the fact that parents see the $400 business class machine, and figure its a great deal for a "new" computer, because all new computers are identical in performance to them. The kid shows up on The Sims 2 BBS and complains their "New" machine can't run the game. My new toaster can't either. So they end up getting some old PCI video card and tossing a little ram in it until they can convince their parents to buy a gaming machine.

does anyone knows what files from all other expansion packs can be deleted? i understand that only the lastest expansion installed executable is used, so I think there is a lot of crap from old expansions that are not used

I have all expansions so far including the stuff packs, believe it or not they were download as a request by my sister(really not a cheap excuse) I ended up installing them all in my machine for testing purposes and play it once in a while, I find it great for chilling heh

I'm pretty sure I can cut up to a gig on useless files, just need to know wich.

Actually its almost inevitable that a patch gets released, and that is what you need the clone for.
Traditionally these games haven't been cracked, and there is no indicaton on GCW that reloaded stuck around to crack the patches, so I really don't know why they started cracking them mid way through. It is a bit stupid to tag reloaded on this thread. They weren't the first to release it and the won't crack the patch, so their release is rather pointless. EA uses very easy to bypass SD4.

+1 to crossmr.

Each expansion gets at least one patch, if not two, so there's no point in having a cracked release without a proper image if the cracking group that releases the original doesn't bother cracking the patch as well.
