I have a 7800gt and an amd 2800, and performance sucks.
Even on lowest setting possible
Worst of all i bought the game (i know, stupid)
I won't play it again untill the crappy performance is fixed in a patch.

WTF?

Started game (loading for 1-2 mins), directly into fight, lagging baaaaaadly, hit an orc a couple of times, blue screen.

Newly reinstalled windows and all.. Latest game i played before this was The guild 2.. bug/lagfest aswell. Jowood must be the latest reincarnation of satan on earth.
Both probably great games but none of them actually works.

Sloppy video rendering/performance is usually tagged as "lag" these days.

I think that's what he means.

In the other release when i fought with orcs (in the first orc camp i saw) i've killed them all (or at least i thought so) but then they just stood up again ... and again... and again.. i just couldn't kill them.. Was that because of the tages protection? And is it okay in the razor version?

Btw i'm playing on 3ghz amd, 6600GT @, 1gb ddr, low details 1024x768 and it's pretty fine. When it's loading a new area it lags for a second or two but that's fine...

Lag as in game stuttering, running slowly, bad framerate... though it actually feels like playing a mmo running on an old 486 with 28.8 modem.

Second time around... loading game ( a bit faster), killed 4 orcs, blue screen

yay!

Im actually starting to suspect those nvidia, intel promotions actually means they never even tested this on AMD and ATI hardware Razz

Wow, look like they did it Smile Soon I will be enjoying this game too...

So, to start with, what "class" are you guys trying to make of your char? Rogue? Warrior? Mage? Ranger? And how did you experience the start of the game? Was it hard for you to get along with your "chosen path" or did you own some orc ass real quick?

Think i'm going for a kinda rogue/ranger class, pick em off with a few arrows, then finish the rest of with some razor(1911 Razz)-sharp daggers ^^

stab em when they're down, or you'll just be knocking them out.

Something like:
-Hold RMB
-Press LMB
-Move mouse down

or something, thought it was just like that. The other thread about the ston3d release has more info on those "finishing moves".

Hold right mouse button and press left mouse and hold will be enough.
Dunno if you need right mouse.

No because it makes the NPC's into pussies.

Well, seems like even this so-called über-protection hasn't lasted more than a week. I think I'll DL it, not to play it, for it's so utterly buggy, but to be able to form my own opinion about the game.

amd64 3200+
6800 GT OC
1500mb ram

Running on Medium. Runs "smooth" - better than I thought when reading the posts about it here anyways. I get masive cpu usage w/ stuttering sometimes but otherwise its very playable. The game looks quite stunning, albeit graphical anomilies (clipping issues and whatnot). The lack of polish really shows though :\ Could have used a couple more months of developing, and it would probably be worth the wait too. Ah well, I'm still having fun with it tho! Peace,

A great concept, but sadly it was poorly implemented... The game is great, but all the bugs and performance problems suck ALOT.

I'm running it at 1440x900 all settings on high in a BFG 7950GT OC 512 64 Athlon X2 4600+. I get between 25 and 40 FPS but stuttering destroy the experience. Oh and clipping... I lost the initial orc slayer because it's in the middle of a wall! Oh not to mention the weird torch problem, game just freezes for a second or two!

I just hope Jowood has noticed the crap they released... Such a great game destroyed by some greedy publisher! Good thing I didn't buy it.

this reminds of Vampire Bloodlines ... another great game ruined by bugs, luckily there were a lot of fan made patches which came in handy ..
IMO, the developers should start working on the damned patches ... not sit back and watch how people who paid for the game are fixing it ...

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - ASUS P5Q-PRO - Mushkin XP2-6400 4GB - Gainward HD4850 Golden Sample - WD 3200AAKS (managed to fry this one, ffs) + WD 6400AAKS - Thermaltake 550W PSU - Thermaltake Soprano VX case

haha not a very symmetrical physique then?

as for the X1900 question, it certainly owns in crossfire here, everything maxed, 1900x1200 and AF 16x.

as for game bugs i dont think they ruin the gameplay that much, ive not really experienced any.........that is of course apart from the bloody save game out of memroy crash bullshit.
now thats the bug that ruins it for me because the save you make when that happens doesnt work when you restart and you have to do everything you just did all over again! bah! Mad

Do you have the minimum requirements to run the game? Do you see the message with the patch location? do you close the message?
