Hey,
I was wondering if someone could give me advice as to what program I should be using. I've been collecting, and am still collecting, a large number of ebooks, of which are in differing formats. I'm looking to make all the ebooks in my collection a single format, namely PDF, from what are now (lit, doc, rtf, ect). Since I have a large number of books, I'm hoping to have the process somewhat automated, if that's possible. So, what do the Gurus of cyberspace recommend for my situation? Besides that I fuck off...

I don't know of any (single) application which can take all the formats you mention and spit out pdfs. Most apps support only MS formats and html. They all work basically using the same principle. A post-script driver is installed and appears as a virtual printer. When you open any document and select print you can print to the virtual printer and the output is a pdf file. What most of the applications do is build a user interface around the post-script driver.
The weak point of most of these applications is that they require you to open the document and then print to the virtual printer. That really does not lend itself to automation, especially if you have a lot of formats.

Install Adobe Acrobat.
With it comes a bunch of different conversion utilities.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.
