The game sucks, buggy as hell, crashes every ~15 minutes and its nothing new to MMOGs. They had a good concept with the game but they decided on using a free engine to base it on, it was out of date before it was released But yeah, they decided it would be better to market it has a whole new game instead of just an exp pack, but in reality its just an addon.

lol i remember downloading that demo tutorial offline mission thing ages ago.
got 5minutes into it and crash Laughing

anyway if its really an expansion beeing marketed as a sequel does that mean people who played neocron one wont have to start from scratch in neocron 2 :S

They're characters can be imported, but they're doing a money/item wipe, though after MASSIVE anger from the playerbase they decided that they will allow you to bring 10 items with you.

I've played original Neocron a lot in beta of Neocron 2 so my opinions are probably a bit biased. Graphics have improved slightly from Neocron classic but by todays standards, even for a mmorpg, it looks like crap. Runs worse than farcry. Basic concept of the game is fps + mmorpg although there isn't much roleplaying in the game. Combat differs from regular point & kill mmorpgs a lot. Playerskill is big factor in player vs. player fighting and you can engage in PvP pretty much anywhere you want and whoever you want. Stability has increased dramatically in Neocron 2 but in latest beta patches it seems it took giant leap backwards . I could easily play 8 hours without client crashing or any other problems (except bugs) before the latest beta patches. Neocron 2: Beyond Dome of York is actually just expansion to Neocron classic but you don't need original Neocron to play it.

this game as always been such a mess ... even when releasing an addon they totaly fuck up. . i call it robery . selling a product telling it is the sequel to another when its just an addon ... they say in theyr forum that since neocron got released they changed so many things , that they now may call it "neocron 2" even if its still the same game ... the fact is only actual players of neocron know the truth, a lot of others people gona buy a product thinking they buy something totaly new ....
