When ever I shut down my cpu...I get an error saying that rundll did not shut down...

I then have to wait for it to shut down indivdually before the cpu actaully shuts down.

Why is this? It just starting happening....

any help would be great.

thanks

dont listen to him

rundll is a standard windows exicutable that is called for many windows tasks, as well as many 3rd party ... problems such as spyware keylo0ggers etc.

i would suspect you partially fried some spyware and its still exicuting. check your hijack this log for soemthing you dont regognise and use spyware software reguarlly.

well...so far I only did the msconfig thing and unchecked the start up items.

I have not seen the error come up...but I have only shut down once since doing it.

I appreicate both responses.

You should also get a registry cleaner like "RegSupreme" to clean all the invalid keys from the registry.

PM me if you want the app.

RUNDLL32 is just so you all know listed several times in the system config file depending on what software you have installed

HIJACK THIS is a software tool that easlly gives you a list of all enabled and diasbled startup options.

you could past the log into the thread and i can take a look at it.
