I second that, being playing for a few hours now, no bug, no crash and performance is fine so it's a pleasant gaming experience.

that sounds great, guys and gals!

I'm just afraid I won't be able to enjoy it with my present hardware...

I only have a Radeon x800GTO. Thinking getting a new one though... Has anyone tried the XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 XXX gpu? or something similar? They're quite cheap, but still better than my present gpu.

if your gpu isnt state of the art you can just lower some details until it runs, it's the cpu that's important as there's no way to reduce settings on things like ai, pathfinding, physics,..
an x800 might just be good enough to enjoy the game.

and yeah the 8800 is coming soon which will probably further reduce the prices of current cards so waiting can't hurt.

the 8800? cool. and you think that that card will press the prizes of more budget-type cards down?

It happened in the past, so I think it will happen too with the introduction of the 8800 cards.

Damn, I've been customizing my character for almost 15 minutes now... Almost at the end of the options I deside to get a more evil looking mage... So I click back about 12 times, thinking the game would save my other settings... guess it didn't, that sucks

auto updater works fine (needs 4 gb FREE HD SPACE (not sure on c: or on disk you installed game on)

i used pr0t-stop to hide drives, no need for procyon tool (use nwn2main.exe or nwn2main_amdxp.exe in install dir) all emulations on in dt 4.06HE

Not necessary, but recommended. Patches are always recommended to ensure the stability and playability of a game. Otherwise they wouldn't release patches right.. Razz

I played the game without the patch and it was fine, only installed the patch later. it does add some new spells for druids and fixes quite a lot of bugs which you may or may not encounter, so it definitely can't hurt to patch!

Grabbing this one right now, even though the torrent is lame as shit.

Does anyone know if you can play LAN multiplayer with the procyon release or do we have to wait for a private server patch?

The 8800 is going to be overpriced at launch.Yeah it's supposed to support DX10 but by the time the first DX10 games are going to appear on the shelves there are going to be even better cards out and the 8800 will probably will have dropped in price.

Not worth it to get it at launch imho.

I'm not getting an 8800... I don't have the cash for it, being a student and all. But I'm thinking of either GeForce 7800 or x1950PRO... any suggestions as to which one is the better?

X1950PRO is a very nice card for the money ($200)
It's built on .08 micron process and has better shading capability than the older 7800 series.

Yes the 8800s will own but they'll also own your wallet.
GTS will cost around $450-500
GTX will cost around $550-600
These cards will not drive down the price of less expensive cards as they're not competing against them. The mid-range cards based off the 8880 tech, 8600 or whatever they'll be called aren't coming until next spring, so unless you can afford to spend a ton of money you may as well get a new card now. And even if you can spend a ton of money, it would be wise to wait until Feb for ATi R600 cards to compare against 8800 and see what performs best. You need vista to run DX10 anyways, so there is no rush. Very Happy

Can't wait to play NWN2. Still d/ling. Rolling Eyes
