Got Pr0t.St0p, tried it. Tried YASU as well. Have tried ASR. Still isn't working. Oh well. I'll just wait for a crack, I guess.

Thats odd - worked perfect for me..did you try and put every emulation on in daemontools? (dunno if it's required..but worth a shot)
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

I tried emulation on and off as well as running the game with D-tools opened and closed. I just tried procyon with and without Pr0t.St0p and it didn't work. This is strange, because I susually don't have this kind of problem. I get the generic error: Please insert the original disc instead of a backup (1000).

look for the windows update kb917422. see if u have that installed. if so, uninstall it.

lol , co-sign but thats gotta be the dumbest marketing move ever , they hasnt even released any info regarding the minimum requirements to give people time to upgrade and a month before the official release boom , all of a sudden sm 3.0 is required , ubi slaps us in the fuckin face , lol , ive finished the xbox 360 version long ago so i dont care but what about others  |
It just shoulda been backwards compatable, kinda like Tomb Raider Legends or something. Maybe future patch :s

Dam this is the slickest game i have played on PC ever. All on high and its just kick ass. The Music, Graphic Design, Level Design, Animation, Graphics...well u name it. Its always like this when U play a SC game the 1st time...plain awesome. Still hate to use w,a,s,d, as movement, but getting used to it.
Just some screens as asked for earlier 
Yea a bit dark bit its SC so ...
Using Pr0t.St0p with the Procyon launcher.

the only problem i had getting the game to run was with the newest nvidia drivers. it always got some d3d error. installed the previous version and it ran fine. im assuming theres some conflict in the newest drivers and 6800 series.

that particular update fucks with securom.
and i take my previous post back, it had nothign to do with the drivers. i had my setup with my TV as my primary display and my monitor as secondary. when i had the tv s primary the game wouldnt run i go t the d3d error, but when i have the monitor primary it runs fine. guess ill try it with the monitor unhooked see what that does.

KB917422 conflicts with several different games. FEAR, FEAR Combat, and Just Cause just to mention a few which I had problems with (they wouldn't launch at all) before removing it.

I don't know why people are complaining about the X800 series and how it should be supported. The truth is you bought the card knowing its a SM 2.0b card which barely got any support. While at the same time 6800GT/Ultras were on the market with full SM 3 support.
This same situation happened when?....When Chaos Theory was released, the initial release of the game only supported PS 1.4 and 3.0 until they released a patch to quiet the whining crowd who didn't meet the hardware requirements and made available PS 2.0 in the game..
People can call it marketing all they want but why in the world would they purposefully exclude a certain audience of gamers with PS 2.0 cards? Because not only are their a great selection of PS 3.0 cards available today (which fit into many different budget categories) , but maybe the developers realized that those older generation cards would not cut it in terms of running the game at their intended level.
I mean you see X1k series being hugely supported by ATi and successfully marketed toward the budget audience with X1650XT/Pro, and up the ladder with its 1950Pro for a reason.
All Im saying is the original X series owners got screwed in the long run and i was one of them but i was conscious enough to ditch the card in time to enjoy the markets rush toward SM 3 games and HDR goodness.

There are a few games like this , GTA San Andreas being one of them from the ones i can remember.You have to play in clone mode instead of single display otherwise the game crash as soon as you try to start it (.exe error).

it runs great on both boxes. naturally it seems a little smoother on my fx-62 4gb ram box
but it also runs smooth on my xp 3000+ 1gb ram box.
both have the same vid card 6800gt oc
and to deelix i dont know yet. i never played CT im going to play that before this. |

I uninstalled the Windows update and got the same result as before: securom error. It's strange to me that everyone else is using the same programs I'm using to run the game and mine isn't working. I usually don't have a problem with this sort of thing. I'm going to uninstall the game and reinstall it on my c: drive. That probably won't fix it but who knows.
