Just read two huge reviews of the game, and NONE of them even mentions system requirements, and they dont mention (not what I could see) if your sims can leave the house and go downtown or go visit the neighbours....so that you can follow them and control them that is.
Very strange, would be fun to know how much freedom there is in the game. If all is left for expansions or if we get much freedom and alternatives from the start.

Edit: Now I've read three professional official reviews. Still no information of the above Sad

These are the system requirements;

* 800 MHz processor or better
* 256 MB RAM if Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000
* At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space

I have read that you have to buy your groceries and you can go to the grocery store to do that... so there is at least one store..

lol yeah the old official requirements, but we all know those dont have to mean shit. And buying from a store doesn't necessarily mean they can go their and you can follow them, it might just be that you send them there but dont see what happens. Like work in old Sims.

I have seen screenshots where they are at the store! you have 2 options, you can get the food delivered to the door or you can call a cab and go to the store!

GT: Will there be community locations in The Sims 2, or will neighborhoods still consist of home lots? Will you be able to take your Sims between locations?

Lucy: You can build community lots in the neighborhoods, in fact you can even select between several neighborhoods and landscape them further too. I tend to like to make community pools and the video game store or clothing stores are good to have for teens and growing Sims. You can even build grocery stores.

Yeah, but you never know until you've seen the final version....this might be empty promises that comes in the first expansion-pack. Thats why I think its sad they dont mention this important bit at all in any of the big reviews released so far.

The community lots were mentioned in an IGN preview. Each neighbourhood has a few, like shopping area, a swimming pool or whatever and you call a taxi to take your sim or sims there. Once there, you have total control like in a house.

I'm pretty sure you can add them to your custom neighbourhood if you're importing landscapes from Simcity 4 but I don't think you can build them in the same way as building houses. I don't think your sims can work there either which is a same. Would be nice to see the Mom at work when the the kids go to buy new computer games.

Is the nuked version the same one as on the french newgroups?

The day I fell the need to prove that I have a game is the day I'll stop downloading stuff. Now if you guys excuse me, I have to play my working copy of The Sims 2Smile Seriously though, it really works. No crack, just mount cd's and install, enjoy the small minigame. Keep cd 1 mounted after install and play the game. make sure you have directx 9.0c installed.
