Sorry, but how ...... some people seem to be surprises me really - I mean, as an "experienced pirate" its surely not the first time you notice that the publisher includes an update for the copy protection in his game patch, so the pirated/cracked version will no longer work.

So, what to do when the "older"(working) patch is no longer availible? You should make a backup of the game directory on a backup medium (USB-HD for example) to ensure that you have a working backup version in case the patched version will no longer work.

Only a suggestion...
(I did it this way and continue playing with 1.1 patch, no problems so far) Rolling Eyes

disconnect your ide cd-rom.

don't use Pr0t.St0p v1.0 or YASU.
use cure-rom.

it works well with 1.02 patch Smile

The 1.02 hotfix has been removed from the server, due to some technical issues that came forward after the hotfix was released. Obisidian is hoping to release the "fixed" hotfix later this day or tomorrow

Please notice that it's a hotfix and not a patch. 1.02 only adresses problems where cutscenes would not fire, display black screens, or no longer allow you to talk to characters within the game. But because the patch brought forward some more major problems (like black screens, errors and lock-ups) they've withdrawn the patch and are fixing it right now.

On the other hand, they also announced that they are trying to release the 1.03 patch before 23rd nov. This patch should address most performance issues, anti-aliasing, NPCs, quests, etc...

mhm ... i've encountered a problem ... after returning from the swamp ruins, i talk to my step-father and he tells me to go to neverwinter ... and here is where the fun starts ... none of the world transition portal thingies work .... i tried them both .. i can't travel to the Inn ... it just sends me back to the village where i can't do anything but watch as my character sits there doing nothing (no commands work ... not even menu buttons and such .. ), so i have to ctrl-alt-del my way out of the game ... does anyone have any ideas?

PS: i tried teleporting to the swamp first and then to the inn, but to no avail ... it just brings me back to the swamp where i have that stupid issue ....

LE: almost forgot, i'm running the procyon version patched up to 1.01

The updater is already in 1.04 version but the game... still dead in 1.01, hope they patch quicly, iam beginning to be bored with NW2.

DO NOT USE THIS HOTFIX! As stated above, the 1.02 hotfix causes more problems than that it solves. "Fixed" 1.02 hotfix to be released tomorrow

That's probably the default ini file then, the real one is located here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\
(A few interesting settings but nothing that usefull)

What version do you have? RLD or Procyon? If you're using the Proc release, use the procyon loader instead of ASR. That should still work around Securom because it wasn't updated in 1.02 i read on the official forum.

If i remember correctly it's 5 6 3 1.
(Could also be 5361 or 5163, I just typed the above numbers in random order and it worked though I did know some of the numbers aftear reading the riddle)

EDIT: Seems I was wrong, funny I thought i entered four digits. Very Happy
(Guess that's what happens when you try to force the riddle by guessing)

Has anyone completed the happy returns quest?

I've gone from the archive to the jerro farm and cleared out the bad guys inside and outside the building. However shandra refuses to talk to me still. any suggestions?

since i upgraded to 1.02 i got the same problem with ever loader i try include curerom...

the game wont load up!...

Can anyone recommend a nice class to play campaign with that is easy to play and doesn't lose much hp at all? and does nice dmg and nice everything you now Laughing

Fighter?
(Prestige would probably be weapon master if you choose to specialize)

Barbarian?
(Slightly wilder and prestige would probably be frenzied berserker)

Paladin?
(A few spells and healing but you need to remain lawfull good - divine champion later?)

Warlock?
(Not played as one yet but Eldritch Knight combines spellcasting and fighting)

Monk?
(Brutal warriors in later levels but limited armor and weapons)

Ranger?
(Bow and sword plus a chance for Arcane archer to combine spells and archery)

Dwarf?
(Dwarven defender is quite defensive but you have to play as a dwarven character)


I'd probably begin as a fighter/barbarian since those are easy classes and can handle most fights, paladin could also be a good choice but you have to remain lawful good.

There's also the Blackguard class for warrior characters but I haven't tested that one.
(Duelist could also work I suppose if you prefer lighter weapons/armor and archery)

If you would want to go truly "evil", then Pale Master would be the better prestige class. More necromancy like, and at lvl 9 you will become nearly undead yourself, more like a lich Smile

I play as a customized fighter currently at level 12, was thinking about weapon master but I don't want to specialize in only one weapon and the frenzy class seems more fit for barbarians.
(Dwarven defender is also out - human, divine champion seems more paladin like)

I usually play as a fighter the first time around to learn the game and make the most of all weapons and armor, later on I will probably attempt a rogue like class though i'm unsure about what to become, wizard classes will probably be left out for a while.
(Never been that skilled as a wizard/sorcerer/warlock though the new prestige classes could help with that)

Armor and weapons could look better though...
(Wielding two claymores due to the monkeygrip feat is quite fun though and since one of them is the headsman I kinda kill everything but my purple green platemail embarass my character)

EDIT: That's it!
A chaotic evil naked monk using his fists to crush enemies. Laughing
(No weird armor and weapons and the evil dialogue is hilarious)
