Hey all. I am looking for the name of an old game. Well, fairly old. I remember playing it on the 486. I can recall it as a 3rd action adventure game. Not sure if it was 1st or 3rd person. You ride in (I think) on a horse, and you have a small deserted town on your left. I think at some point I went into a barn, and got ambushed.

Know it ain't much, but I hope some of you can recall the name of it!

No Horse, but maybe it was called Ecstatica

I knew one of you guys would recall! Thanks. Btw, I think it was Ecstatica 2 actually:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/ecstatica2/review.html

"n the game, your quest begins with the hero and his girlfriend Ecstatica, both sporting their brand-new SVGA tunics, astride a horse bound for their hometown. A spirit comes to visit them, informing them that their erstwhile ruler has tampered with some ancient arcane texts, and faster than could forget the word "Nicto," the whole town and surrounding lands have been overrun by evil spawns. The couple ends up running into of few of said demons at the foot of the town. Ecstatica is swept away, and our hero is tossed into a ditch."

Thanks again!

Damn, that takes me back. I remember first reading about Ecstatica in Edge magazine, way way before it came out.... looking at the bubble graphics and thinking about how real it looks, and how my PC would never run it.

BTW, did everyone play the Twinsen games? I think the US version had a different name (journey something or other, or something journey)

Hmmm. I missed this Ecstatica game, will have to try to find it somewhere. But I did play and own at some time Little Big Adventure: Twinsens Oddysey, or something like that. Cool game for its time. I remember being impressed with the fluid character animation.

both LBA and ecstatica rocked...rocked hard. if i had to choose though, i would go for LBA. first time i tried it and tried to escape form the prison...it was just something i had never played before.

only bad part in that game would be some frustrating platform jumping.

ecstatica also had some frustrating elements in it.

Oh yeh, Ecstatica was great. My main memory of it is hiding in the closet from the werewolf Very Happy Such an innovative game for its time. Was also an LBA fan - I still have both of them kicking around on a disc somewhere.

those games are quite difficult(some puzzles are still hard Very Happy), by todays standard look pretty bad but again gameplay/story=Awesome and i still think they are better than most games today...

LBA2 was the first game who i wanted to finnish and did finnish. Those crisp SVGA graphics, the choesivness of the universe, so many locations to explore, so much to do in every screen...just unbelievable. I remember the puzzles on the Moon, the cart racing, and even the platform jumping didn't bother me(or maybe it was one place, the train tracks layout in the cavern...i think i spent like 10h figuring that puzzle out). Too bad it didn't had a sequel, but i hear it's in the remake now, to run on winxp
