the vista installer is very buggy, no wonder it has "help improve windows installer" somewhere in setup. i had the missing and corrupt error message trying to install it from desktop, but now i've managed to install it sucesfully different way. for all that have this problem, set your dvd drive to boot first in bios and after restart boot directly to dvd and install. it didn't show the error message again. this is what worked for me, btw i think vista is not worth upgrading from xp. i feel sorry for people that will go out and pay for this.

Anyone install the activation cracks and then when they reboot to the normal mode to activate it with the RC key, after logging into the account first off (before getting a chance to goto Help & Support then activate online), it already prompts for a new key?
I used the iND release and overwritten the files stated then reboot to activate it with my RC2 key but it just suddenly asked for a new key before I had a chance to reach my desktop.

Fuck this shit, i can't make it boot. Burned the ISO with Deepburner and there are bootfiles and shit in the ISO :\
Any ideas?

This release is the best one yet? None with working serial and no activation crap? So I guess it's worth waiting for a proper release before going crazy about it and burn/give it to everybody? Or will we ever see that happen?

Is it going to chug badly on a Amd (forgotten name of chip it's so old, but it had double cache..barton ?.. not 64 bit) 2800+ with 712MB memory and 80gig IDE HD ?
Appreciation to anyone who could give an eductaed guess based on their experience.
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

Made a clean install on my company laptop - didn't want to screw up any of "MY" stuff. It worked like a champ, used the -ind activation method. You can still get a RC1 key online from MS if you need one. (Needed for this activation method) Only complaint - It now says "Evaluation copy. Build 6000" in the lower right hand corner after activating.
Oh well -what you want for free...

it depends on ur videocard and what you plan to use it for. If you have a onboard video like I suspect, then you would be better off turning off the aero stuff. And also dont even bother gaming!!!

To buypass the evaluation message in the bottom right corner try this: Stop the software licencing befor you do any replacing. go to Control Pannel > Admin Tools> service's then stop the software licence service (do not disable it) all you do is stop the service once. if you disable it goes to cripple mode. but after thats done go on like normal replacing files and crap. once you restart it was ask for the key put a beta key, i used an RC2 key. anyways the point of doing this is so that the msg dont show in the bottom right hand corner. I stll think this software is useless after june since it will ask you again to activate. We are all looking for a working crack.

i did that on my test system and got the famous windows is expired msg with 3 options.
basicly i got locked out. so this crack only makes the system funtion till june 2007.
when all beta keys expire your system will be fooked

the crack only works fill june 2007 so i'll will wait till proper crack comes uit with non beta keys.
also my xfi drivers are beta and still not working properly.
i'll let it go for a few months till vista is supported and works beyond 2007
