okay, probably not a problem with winrar, but anyway.

almost everything i download (rars that is) has some broken files. Doesn't matter whether i download from any torrentclient or dc++ or if it's a tv-show or dvd-r, there are always damaged rar-files. It's not like this is a big problem when downloading tvshows or other smaller files, but when you have to download 10-15 new 50mb files, it gets kind of old when you have to do it every time.
anyone know how to fix this little problem of mine?

Bad hardrive sectors maybe...:-/...I would suggest getting another hardrive and save your downloads to that and see if you still have the problem.

Not likely that'll go out and buy a new hdd because of this Razz
anyway, already tried on three different ones, one which is brand new

try upgrading winrar.

what newsgroup have are .par files which repairs .rar files that are broken. But since torrents/ftp don't have that, you can't repair and you need to redownload them.

You can check with a .sfv file to see which files are broken.

sounds more like crapped out memory
run the sfv - if it still checks out, then you've got crappy release or broken or old software

Do you use a NAS to store the files? I had problems when extracting from a NAS but using the temp folder set to C:\

try a newer version of winrar, sometimes when the packed up a release with a newer version older version will not extract the files.

It was probably some memory problem. I bought a new memory today and since I have downloaded two things and both have been fine. Hope it'll stay that way (probably won't though, considering how much problem I'm having with my computer Very Happy)
