Yeah, the .org isn't the most well thought out site, but check their forum. I think you'll then find it's anything but "noob" Smile

Haha yeah, that would be really cool. Quick question while we're at it - can you play more than 2 players in multiplayer mode? Would be nice to play 2vs2 or 3vs3 too.. split the armies between the players and combine the attack Smile

ok, from the reading of the official forums it seems the patch will come out in about 2 weeks. It'll fix the buggy AI, some balancing and it'll open the game for the modders

Nice, so you get one part of the army each to cooperate with?

Another reason to get it, didn't like LAN in RTW but maybe they tweaked it (hopefully a lot Very Happy).

multiplayer has always been the same in all total war games, dont expect anything new.
everyone gets some points chooses armies and then they fight.

When do you think the realism mod will be released?

I found the game to easy as it was now, so no point in playing atm. The AI buggs added to this matter, so it mihgt get better when the patch comes.

I agree - but it's still quite scary to see how common these kind of posts are nowadays Sad we shouldnt have to wait for mods or patches to enjoy a game Sad

Games are made with the mainstream gamer in mind. So its dumb to expect high end realism and hardcore difficulty settings, as - unless in case of some very dedicated developer - it isnt going to happen.

Best thing we can 'hope' for is that the game is highly moddable, so that people with time and affinity for this kind of stuff will make the realism mods.

So that much about realism.

There is the issue of games released unplayable though.. i can live with them not being perfect in every sense of the word, but todays games are released in early beta quality most of the time.. this is more than annoying, it pisses people off. And rightfully so i must say.

Take NWN2 for example. that piece of game is / was unplayable before patch 1.03, medieval also has its share of odd feature cuts and bugs, although nothing similar to what NWN2 has. These are just two of the recently released games.

I hear Armed Assault suffers from some very serious problems as well. Not much we can do about it though.. not buy the game maybe, but fact is, that the games are great once they are patched.. but they only get patched if we buy them first..

Anyway.. i say we should clearly differentiate between games that are not exactly meeting our expectations, not being realistic enough, etc... and games that simply come in a half completed, early beta stage. These are two very different things.
