CrashDay

  • Official web page: clickyclicky
  • Publisher: Atari
  • Developer: Moon Byte Studio’s
  • Genre: Racing/Stunts/Weapons involved
  • Release date: 23rd February 2006
  • Story/Description:
    Quote:

Stunt racing game, developed by independent German studio Moon Byte. Crashday puts you in the world of stunts, dents and adrenaline: whether you prefer to smash your vehicle into pieces with breath-taking stunts or better still prefer to race against your enemies in on custom highspeed race tracks -- maybe you also just want to show your fellow man what a serious head-on collision can be like... The integrated track editor of Crashday builds the basis for all driving areas in the game. You build maps independent of any physical limits and it's up to you to decide whether you put jumps, loops, tunnels or houses onto the track.

  • Multiplayer: YES
  • Preview: IGN
  • Demo: N/A
  • Screenshots: IGN
  • Trailer: Official website

Features:
• 7 game modes (both single player and multiplayer).
• 12 vehicles with tuning possibilities.
• Integrated track editor.
• Career mode, Single event and Mini games.
• Weapon features - Missiles, mines and miniguns.
• Complete freedom of movement on tracks.
• Detailed damage model and physics.
• Action replays - Slow motion, freeze time.
• Strong community support - Create own cars and even new track pieces.

Making the community grow
* Possibility to build an almost unlimited number of racing tracks with the flexible track editor
(Track files without preview picture only 5-20KB in size, suitable for online matches and fansite track downloads)
* Create custom cars afterwards (by SDK)
* Create custom track pieces afterwards
* New time-of-day settings can be installed

Game modes All modes available in single and multiplayer

Stunt Mode Give whatever it takes to set highscores in stunt mode with stunning action! Jumps, loops, roll overs, flips, spins... here's Tony Hawk with cars!

Racing Mode Attack best times or race against other players on default or custom tracks - choose between city sets, offroad sets, highway road pieces, racing track elements and much more...

Wrecking Mode (team-play capable)
Put on your helmet and step into your vehicle - it's time for some wrecking! If you like cars smashing into each other, that's your mode. And in case you are still not satisfied get yourself some "support" with a rocket launcher or minigun!

Knock Out Mode Just be quicker than the slowest driver on the track - after each lap completed the last driver is kicked out of race until there's only one last man standing!

Speed Bomb Mode Watch out, someone installed a bomb in your car and it's blowing up if you're getting too slow! Now let's see how long you can continue to stay alive on the right route!

Capture The Flag (team-play capable)
Catch the flag by crashing into your opponents and bring it back to the flag point! Or better let you help out by a team member by passing the flag over with a missile shot.

Pass The Bomb Mode It might be YOU who was chosen to carry out a bomb that explodes after a certain bomb timer expired! So better quickly pass over that thingy to anyone else before it's time to say good-bye!

Test Drive Test drive tracks, cars or car setups without any rule restrictions (singleplayer only).

im not impressed by that one....graphics are great, but where are the physics or the damage...i mean c´mon shooting 2 rockets into a cars rear and NO damage at all,ROFL

im not a console fanboy,i dont have one,but burnout 3 owns this one by far...
is it that hard to create nice damage animations with debris flying around like in burnout on PC??
so if it not change enormous on that part,it will be a major skip for me,just my 2 cents

so then they changed the physics for the new trailer Very Happy
and i dont think it will be better by the time the game hits the stores next year
i don´t like race games where the cars are rocksolid like a train...
flat out on the other hand has a nice physics and damage engine, that should be a fun racer, there you can see the cars damage and all,but not in crashday, that looks like skripted paintings on the cars and that sucks big time
the cars hammered against trees, bridges, fall out of the sky from 1km,shot at with rockets, explode and and and....but NO DAMAGE

but everybody has his own opinion

and don´t start to flame me because that is only MY opinion Very Happy
