after everything,
"your system does not have a directx 9.0c compatible graphics adapter. apllication will now terminate"
And to think that x800 pro flashed to XT PE is a directx 9.0c compatible card...lol

I had problems with directX 9.0c too. Had a beta version installed. Wouldn't work. Found some strange directX remover and then installed directX from cd 1. Then it worked.

LOL!! I love this game. It does still feel like the Sims, just much better! I am having no problem playing game MAXED settings, on a 256 ATI 9800 PRO. I already had Direct x 9c installed, so that wasn't a problem. You can burn the cds to install, but you MUST use emulation for safedisk to play. I used alcohol120 to burn and daemon to play (just load 1st disk).

So is it possible to mount this with D-tools and just burn and play it?

Go to control panel and then to system and then disable the emulated drives, no need to uninstall

I was having the same problem with the game not running even after disabling all my emulated drives and then mounting CD1 with the latest daemon tools, then I read a reply under the "The_Sims2_AlcoholClone-CLONEGAME" subject (http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3272&start=80) posted by Entity, wich suggested uninstalling CloneCD from your system because some games do not like finding that on systems and this clone version doesn't. So I unistalled CloneCD and now it runs like a champ! Just mount CD1 with Daemon tools and turn safedic emulation on.
-Hope this recycled suggestion helps those still having probs, Thanks Entity!

True it is a last resort but since I have no use for cloncd because of alcohol 120%, Clonecd is a pretty useless prog for me these days

I see we cannot use the move objects cheat anymore to make our sims instantly happy, it was nice to use it when you got them into a state.
