and aesthetically i would have ramped the grass draw distance up a bit so it doesn't look so tacked on
fiddling with the settings of oblivion really made a huge impact in both visual quality and performance

Ok finally found a way to get it too start straight away and its quiet easy.

1- Convert the .mdf image to .000 image (clone cd image) with Ultraiso.
2- Mount image (.000 image not .mdf) with Daemon tools v4.08HE (All options On)

Play Smile

You may have to start via the Autorun not the .exe and disconnect cd/dvd drives (not IDE drives). It works fine without disconnecting cd/dvd drives and running it from the .exe for me though.

Please let us know if this method works for anyone else.

Didn´t work for me. When I want to play with .000 image, StarForce want new CD-KEY. (the CD-KEY that is on the internet didn´t work) Sad

What is the trick to play it on LAN/Hamachi while connected to internet ?
Since the game tries to connect to some kind of master server and tells you that you have an invalid serial.

Yeh i cant fly for shit either seems alot harder to fly in ARMA then it was in OPFP.

Try installing the game with the .000 image if u havnt all ready. As for the cd key i cant tell u it on here but ive only ever come across 1 cd key on other forums.

Sometimes unmounting the image in DTools then closing DTools then restarting and remounting the image helps aswell.

I cant understand why it doesnt work for anyone else Confused Starforce works in mysterious ways.

Fancy getting the game to work without all that unplugging your IDE drives nonsense?

Thought so.

Here you go:

After successful installation of the game follow these steps:

1. Unmount any image you have mounted through a virtual drive.

2. Start AA and wait for the "No Disk in Drive" error.

3.Leave "Disk not found" error window open. THIS IS IMPORTANT...DO NOT CLOSE THIS WINDOW!

4. Mount image using Deamon Tools 4.08.

5.This will run the auto-launcher. Press autoplay which is the top button, (remember the text is in Czech), and the launcher will close.

6. Now click "retry" in the "Disk Not Found" error window.

At this point wait a few seconds for the protection system to go through it's process, you should see the bars in the protection system screen run all the way through.

DON'T CLOSE ANY WINDOWS IF THE GAME FAILS TO LAUNCH FIRST TIME. Just click "retry" or repeat the process.

I needed to press retry twice and then "Voila!" i'm in the game and Starforce is left snivelling in the corner.

Hope this helps y'all.

i manage to get it to run every 30 or so retry's using the right click shortcut method and switching between the compatibilty modes...now its running i leave it alt-tabbed so i can play it whenever i want...love messing around with the editor commanding squads to get in blackhawks and blowing up buildings...and learning how to fly the jets on the airfields and land them Wink

cool game, much potential,its gonna be amazing online with user made maps and addons!

this game got a horrible performance... with my 4200+ X2 and 1950pro i get only around 15 fps with medium details in the first career mission... with very high its unplayable Sad

Weird, works great here on my Athlon64 3K, 7900GS. But then I could barely run Gothic 3 and others with lower spec than me could. Optimization is a funny old thing!

P.S. Most efficient method I've found so far is, launching the game and then running this HD Stress Test http://www.nu2.nu/bst/ right as the protection process begins. (not before)

start hamachi, disconnect net, start game, enter lan area, reconnect net.

don`t get people , its easy to run this game , just mount the dvd , turn all emulation off but only leave the Safedisk emulation on , click the short cut and play

anyway now a question how to translate this game to eng ??? , i placed the files in the DTA and ADDON directories but the only thing i get is eng menus and the in game subs are still in Czech ???

Try these files, created them with the help of some tutorial and everything aside from briefings are in english.
(There was quite a few strings.txt to replace, guess the previous mod only replaced a few of them)
