i've been hearing that i need to have a umd in the drive when i load an iso, is this true in my case? and also the ISO folder is in the GAME folder?

Yup their have to be a UMD disc in the drive before you attempt to launch isos. The ISO folder should be created in the root folder of your psp. "Why don't you zip it, Zipfero?" - fraich3

That was only the case when dev hook could only run on lower firmwares, the motherboard simply means that flashing does not work as it does on normal psp's.. so no downgrading or custom firmwares.

quick question, does the fact that i can switch from 1.5 to 2.71 FW with devhook mean that i cant play anything that needs a higher one? i ask this because when i ran loco roco on 1.5 it said i needed to upgrade so i ran devhook at 2.71 and it worked, is that how its supposed to be done? kinda working it trial and error here...
