- Story/Description:
Quote: | Command the Rise of Evil in Middle-earth. After more than a thousand years of peace, a dark tide has risen in Middle-earth. The Witch-king is gathering a massive army of evil minions in the land of Angmar. His aim: to wage war against the Men of Middle-earth and avenge Sauron’s defeat at the Battle of the Last Alliance.
In this first expansion pack to The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II, take control of the forces of Angmar in the first major war of The Third Age. With everything a player could want from an expansion pack—a new single player campaign, an enhanced Create-A-Hero feature, a new faction, and much more...you now have more control than ever in your battle for Middle-earth.
|
Features:
Quote: | # Every feature in The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II has been expanded, from a new single player campaign to new units for each of the original game’s six factions.
# Explore a never-before-seen period of Middle-earth history. Witness the Witch-king’s rise to power and Angmar’s invasion of the great kingdom of Arnor...a story only glimpsed at in the books and never visualized in the movies.
# Innovative new units bring a higher level of strategy to the battlefield. Scout the enemy, assess the situation, then use the Thrall Master to summon entire hordes to fight your foes, or enlist the Sorcerer to cast devastating spells using the souls of his acolytes as currency.
# Adapt your strategies to face challenging new campaign missions, featuring Control Point, Competition, King of the Hill, and Hold Out mission types.
# The innovative hero creation tool reaches a new level of depth and strategy with the Create-A-Hero Cost system and new hero assets.
# Play an enhanced and expanded War of the Ring mode, including new army persistence...the units you build up in Battle Phase skirmishes carry over onto the Living World map, allowing you to deploy them to other territories across Middle-earth.
#The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II, The Rise of the Witch-King requires The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II in order to play". |

If you ask me the movies rocked. And i dont think one of the lotr games have been bad to be honest. No real high-notes but no low ones either. Compared to the Star Wars games that's not bad

Try 98/SE mode, worked for NFSCRAP too, remember it's EA.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

I loved the first battle for middle earth game, i liked the second one (i didn't liked it so much because the 'extra' to build anywhere in the map- thus making it just another RTS)
and now i've tried the expansion... Well i've played a single skirmish map to try the new faction.. and it sucks... It's just way to similar to the other 'bad guys factions'. There are almost the same units... orcs, trolls, dire wolfs = warg riders.... all the same building functions and extras.. just in different name... I guess after warhammer 40k's i'm a pretentious man and i'm not anymore used to have the same races with different skins...
oh, and they've said that there is improvment in the 'create a hero' thingie. Yeah right... they've just put another troll for hero class and added the incredible one new helm (at least for the humans)
anyway i hope that at least the campaing is worthed... But this is EA we are talking about.. soooo....

Not worth buying then in your opinion? Im hoping that in a few months i can buy all 3 in a single package..

The second game was better than the first from a strategy game perspective, but lacked the magic the first had (which owes a major part of the magic to the movies). Then EA came and thought "How do we EA this game even more?" -"We'll take anything we can think of and throw it inside, and hopefully no one will notice." If they were to make the first game the same as the second gameplay-wise, it would have been a kickass game, but hey, it's EA, they probably made the first so limited so they could brag how "revolutionary" the second is.
