Crysis-Online has the "unofficial" updated minimum and recommended system requirements for the upcoming mega-smash hit Crytek masterpiece Crysis. Wow, that's a mouthful eh? Check these out.

Minimum Requirements

    * CPU - Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8 Ghz
    * Video - Nvidia 6200 or Ati X1300 - Shader Model 2.0
    * RAM - 768 MB on Windows XP or 1 GB on Windows Vista
    * HDD - 6 GB
    * Internet - 256k+
    * Optical Drive - DVD
    * Software - Direct X 9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements

    * CPU - Dual Core CPU - Either Athlon X2 or Intel Pentium D
    * Video - Nvidia 7600GT or ATI X1800GTO - Shader Model 3.0 or DX10 Equivalent
    * RAM - 1.5GB+
    * HDD - 6GB
    * Internet - 512k+ - 128k Upstream
    * Optical Drive - DVD
    * Software - Direct X 9.0c with Windows XP

Also of note from the report are a couple of other things. Mainly that Crysis will run on both DX9 and DX10 and on Windows Vista and Windows XP. A video card supporting Shader Model 2.0 is the minimum, period. Don't bother with anything less. The CryEngine 2 as its called, can scale back quite a bit, around 2 years according to Crysis-Online, and scale ahead around 1.5 years or so. Crysis will utilize multi threaded CPU's which means the game will support Quad Core processors. A single Geforce 7800GTX will be able to pretty much max out the game.

Now remember, these are not confirmed specs, but I wouldn't doubt they are pretty accurate at this point. Time to upgrade the old PC folks?

I'm not going to bother with upgrading any time soon for this. I'll stick with my 360 to give me my eye candy fix until the required components are alot cheaper. Maybe a year or so after Dx10 comes out. There isn't really that much about Crysis that excites me apart from the graphics and environment interaction.

yeah, hell, it's just one game. I'll play it on lower details maybe if it works for a while, but won't upgrade to a multi core cpu and directx 10 gpu until most new games utilize those things.

Heh, i've seen it live at the Igrograd gaming expo down here in Moscow (4-5 nov, last weekend). It looks a-m-a-z-i-n-g. It's nothing like those abundant vids. Live is live. *shocked*

Crysis is a new first person shooter being developed by Crytek, the makers of the award-winning Far Cry. The game is to be released in quarter four, 2006 and will be published under EA Games.

ea games.....this is a very sad day, how did crytek not look at all they SHIT they've created. Only good thing they've done in the past few years of BF

That guy was from THQ, and if it wasn't for him STALKER would never be released. The game was just without any shape or form, and it still has a very dynamic AI if you bothered to read up on it, difference is that now is actually has a storyline that you can follow.

cut the crap, okay?

one nice proving email from a Stalker fan community that they sent to the guy who did all this:

Mr. Sharpe, if this interview is true, I loathe you, for hate is not strong enough of a word. I despise you with the very fabric of my being. Some might think your resume consisting of "Simpsons Wrestling" is enough to give you even SOME credibility to the production of the project, but many do not. You have proven yourself to be counter-productive and a completely purpose-deafeting influence on this project. Your idea of "fun" completely differs from what we as a community think. This game is not aimed toward the generic CS-playing westerner. There are people between the stereotypes, Mr.Sharpe, and if only you had enough perspective as to see them and notice that your ideas are wrong, you would be considered a respectable man to see past your ideaology no matter how accurate you consider it to be. You are wrong, Mr. Sharpe, and I am particularly upset at your decisions. I thought this would never be possible, but I am not buying Stalker. I will only play the beta leaks and I don't care if this statement violates the rules. Those that agree will do just that! However, I will leave the community and give up on THQ and GSC and any other future projects they will produce if what you said in this interview is true. This may sound like a boycott, but in reality, it is not even a prediction. Knowing that a person such as yourself is in a position of power when deciding what is "fun" and how a game can be made makes me absolutely sure that THQ or GSC will not be producing any future projects worth even taking a look at. They may consider you talented, but we consider you shit. By taking this game and dumbing it down to your twisted, sick, perverted, and grotesque idea of "fun" you have made me lose all hope in humanity. Real actual talent is not talent any more. Tsk. F*ck you with the sincerest form of context this limited textual form of conversation can make physically possible. If this interview is true, then I will return to waiting for my native country's game developers to make something worth playing. Dismal chances, but better than what sticking with you will make.

One more time, f*ck you Mr. Sharpe.

but your statement AI is dynamic - what the fuck, in your opinion this is the only thing that makes Stalker dynamic?

it wasn't suppose to be a normal shooter (as Crysis will be). there had to be sleeping, unscripted AI (this was cut out as well; guy said nowadays pc's can't handle it, lol), freedom of walking everywhere and so on..

basically now it's like a usual corridor shooter. but okay, this is an Crysis thread..

Wasnt so hard to find, was it?
Anyways if they pass that law probably Crytek will move to USA and the game will be delayed for a couple of months more or something.

All AI is a script in some leve. Humans think in scripts if you think about it Wink

Dynamically generated scripts, but scripts none the less. Sad

What were you expecting exactly. Its an fps, you shoot baddies, find a medkit, shoot more baddies. WEre you expecting some revolutionary changes to the gameplay? The main selling point of crysis is the awsome graphics. The gameplay is probably just like in farcry, even how the games starts out. First you fight humans, and then monsters. And for a true fps fan that should be enough. And most of the videos were just showcasing the graphic, only few showed the actual gameplay. Hopefully they wont rush it, and release it with shit load of bugs like several previously released titles.

To me personaly, biosocks reminds of stalker. Not by the looks, but the gameplay. How you can interact with the world, search dead bodies for stuff, non linear paths. I havent played neither so i cant say how good it is, but the both games look awsome. Crysis does too, but its more like an old shooter with a new eye candy, ability to destroy lots of stuff, which just fine with me because i like those kind of shooters. Sometimes its good just to relax and blust away some mutants, though i prefer humans.

gameplay is not the case here, i am talking about the graphics..i dunno..but to me it looks regular... i expected from this game to look mutch better -have you seen the latest screenshots from stalker? now this is good graphic from my opinion. also physics..did you see the shooting into the jeep tiers?..after few shots the tier disapear :/ ...wtf is this? even the air not going out...i just expected more realisem from this game and better graphic...shooting tree's is old , we seen it befor. i must say that other movies look a bit better (the indoor fights and graphics) the indoor graphics on farcry was low, and here we can see a lot better grahics inside buildings. but..the overall picture is same as other fps we know. (thats what i think ofcurse)
