http://www.tv.com/day-break/show/58017/summary.html

Quote:
Detective Brett Hopper is having a really bad day, accused of killing Asst. DA Alberto Garza. He has an alibi, but no one believes him. When he realizes that he has been framed, he tries to run away but has to stop when he learns that his loved ones are also in danger. But one morning, he wakes up and relives the same day over and over again. To stop this cycle, solve the mystery and have a normal life, he must find out who framed him.

Just started watching this and it's pretty good.
like ground hog day where he awakes to the same day every day and has to try and piece together all the pieces of a murder he is being framed for.
Only everything he does has consequences on how other events pan out, does he save someone or let them die to find another piece of the puzzle.

Episode 4 is the current one, the first 2 episodes are pretty boring just building the story but in 3&4 stuff starts getting revealed and it gets better.

If he awakes to the same day every day then why bother trying to solve the problem? They should at least give out the hint how he could stop living the same day over and over again. I still watch it though, hopefully it'll get better after few eps

It will only go on for 13 episodes, it's like a filler-in while Lost is on break, I think.

Tutukun, why give us a hint? That woild spoil the show. Why should he bother to solve the problem?
 Spoiler:

I love the concept of this show, even though it's nothing new (Run Lola Run, anyone?).

run lola run is hardly comparable
she wasn't even aware of it
but it's a scifi cliche
it's been in every single scifi series that don't take itself too seriously
there were several episodes in startrek and outer limits
sg1 had the best episode yet though

I'm not comparing them, just saying it's the same concept; if you had a different choice in life, what would you do?Wink

its like groundhog day, so its definately an interesting idea... he has the knowledge of what he achieved every previous day... what worked, what didnt... wonderful possibilities to kill off his character in "dramatic" ways every now and then, and still be able to bring him back... characters can act differently every day depending on his actions... even a few humorous moments if someone says the same thing to him over and over and over again every day, he can finish their sentences, or maybe get pissed off and just smack em in the head knowing that in 24 hours, it'll be like it never happened Very Happy

havent seen the show, but its a good premise for one.

i hope there will be some episode where he just says "fuck it" and have fun or go on a rampage or whatever
like in sg1 they played golf in the gate room and had one of the two actual carter/macgyver kisses - while neither of them actually happened in their actual final reality Smile (except for macgyver)
keeping it serious is good and all, but the human mind can only take so much of that
being completely alone in a mechanical world, constantly under fire

It's easy for well-established shows with hundreds of episodes like Star Trek to put in some fun episodes here and there, but it's not a smart move for new shows. And considering this will only last 13 episodes or so, I think it needs to stay serious.

Well, it's all about when day zero starts, isn't it? And that isn't when the show starts. 1 day != 1 episode

no in the eps 1 there are two days , eps 2 - another two days , in eps 3 there are 3 days and in 4 - 2 days , so the counter should count this days not the EPS ,
he retired the same day now 9 TIMES!!! NOT 4 TIMES

Ah, right. Guess I havent been paying enough attention to the days. Wink

But in any case, I really love how they make the same day so different, its brilliant.

I like the show so far and i want to know how it all ends up but they can't do an x amount of seasons revolving around the same day, in that sense they've sort of shot themselves in the foot. But then again who's to say that an eventual S2 has to be about the same person..

Again, this show will only go on for 13 episodes, it's almost like a mini-series really.

13 episodes because it is a filler for Lost, and it was actually written for 13 episodes in mind. Get it?
