Not only does the Jukebox play your own MP3's but the T.V play's your own AVI's also, thats that the Official Chat with the makers of the Sims 2, say...

download dx9.0c from microsoft
yes i know it want install, but you can manually extract the files from the cab files dead easy and sort it your self.
1. Extract all files from both dxnt and bdaxp cabs into a temp folder
2. Copy everything bar the dlls and dxdiag to c:\windows\system32\directx\dinput
3. Create a temp folder in c:\windows\system32\ and move all the dlls and dxdiag into them from the folder you extracted dx into.
4. Reboot the pc hit f8 at post go into "safe mode with command prompt"
5. Use the "cd.."(3 times) to move down to the root of your drive when in command prompt.
6: then type cd windows ,then cd system32,cd temp
7. Now type "copy *.* c:\windows\system32"
8. Reboot go back into the where the dx cabs where, find the managedDX cab extract it and run the set up
9. you now have a Working correct version of dx9.0c and the sims 2 works( this has worked on all rc2/sp2 versions of xp with either beta or corrupt dx installs)
over done explanation but it works( and gave me another 10 fps in doom as well) |
DUDE YOU FUCKING KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS WORKED LIKE A CHARM THANKS A BUNCH!!!!!!!!!! sorry for the caps.

"Music: In order to play your own music in the game, just go to My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Music, and drop your .wav or .mp3 files in the appropriate folder."
"TV channels: To have your own movies played on the in-game TV channels, just go to My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Movies\ and place .avi files in the appropriate folder. Ideally, the files should have stereo sound, and be in a 128x128 pixel format, otherwise they will be stretched to fit."
All other custom content instructions are located in Sims2 directory\support\en-uk\readme.txt
Near the bottom of the file

It's "simlish" - some random language they created for the Sims to speak. The characters never speak a real language.

i think this game is okay. it's just like the original sims, but with a few new features and updated graphics. it would be better if your sim can go to other sim's houses. not just restricted to going to recreational areas to meet people.
