First off Bridge commander was good but It was lacking something and I am hoping Star Trek: Legacy changes that. It looks good but until we play It who knows. We will find out If It Is good or not here real soon. US release Is 2 days away 12/05.. I hope there Is a quick release by one of the greats like Reloaded..

Legacy seems to be RTS. So it will be more like Armada, not Bridge Commander. You will control lots of ships from the outside.

Whats the name of that latest Star Trek FPS? It was like the game of the year for me when it came, 2 or 3 years ago, or hmm just 1?
Looked great, great story, great levels, great weapons, great everything Smile
It didnt get much publicity tough, not as much as it deserve, just cuz it was "another" Star Trek game. In my book it was better than Prey..

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 RAM: 4gb Kingmax DDR2 800mhz Video: Asus GeForce 250GTS 1gb Sound: Asus Xonar.

I had the opportunity to play a little bit of this game. If you are a trekkie, you will LOVE this game. If you are a gamer, you will fall in love with this game in the first second you play it. Full control over your ships, very similar to Bridge Commander, if you have ever played it. The graphics are amazing, the environments are interactable. You can hide in a nebula and mess up your enemeis sensors, manuever through astroid fields as a smaller ship, to make a bigger ship chasing you run into them and weaken their shields. Very fast paced and stratigical.

You don't even have to be stratigical. You can just fly, and try and out manuever and out gun your enemy in open-space combat. FANTASTIC. Get this game. YOU DONT NEED TO BE A TREKKIE TO LOVE THIS.

Thats what I am taking about. Like Bridge Commander but so much better. I am counting the hours. EBgames.com Pre-Release Ships 12/5/06.

I hope this game is not just another RTS, but...

"Players become the Admiral of a task force of warships and must lead their fleet to victory in large-scale battles complete with stunning visuals and special effects."

"Real time Starfleet combat. Engage in large-scale combat with dozens of warships fighting massive battles."

"As the Admiral of the Fleet you choose the ships, equipment, and captains that you will lead into battle. The game is designed to provide dramatic large-scale battles with easy-to use controls."

"Let me take a moment to clear up the confusion on Legacy, because it really is not a full out RTS, rather – it’s a hybrid. You see, Star Trek: Legacy is the Star Trek game I’ve always wanted to make: the best possible gaming representation of Trek fleet combat. We started by asking the right question, “How should Star Trek combat play out?” Then, we built the game from there without pinning it into any one genre. We didn’t want to compromise the experience by tying it too closely to some predetermined genre’s conceits. Think of it this way: if you say, “We’re making an RTS game,” then you’re bound by RTS conventions that don’t really make sense in Star Trek (you can’t build a Sovereign Class starship in 30 seconds in Trek reality). So, when any game design question came up, we asked two questions: 1) Is this fun? and 2) Is this Trek? Anything that didn’t fit both of those categories was cut. Legacy is part squad shooter, part action game, part strategy game…and it’s all Trek combat all the time."

That is not exectly true. The Scifi channel cancelled SG-1 but it is possible that another TV channel takes over the program. On gateworld.net there is a topic and there where some posters that said another channel wil continue the serie. But we will all see next year if that is true Very Happy

Legacy is an epic game of Starfleet combat covering the entire Star Trek Universe. Players become the Admiral of a task force of warships and must lead their fleet to victory in large-scale battles. As the Admiral of the Fleet you choose the ships, equipment, and captains that you will lead into battle. The game is designed to provide an immersive strategic and tactical experience by emphasizing the dramatic excitement of large-scale battles without the hassle of complex starship management.
