Hmm I tend to have a very opinionated thoughts about this. When I order online I always make sure it's through official looking sites and by looking at Mr mod chips it's created using a very bad template running OS Commerce, this suggest that this is a "anyone" site, god knows who receives the magical credit card number. Looks like the site was created in 10 mins or a pre buy offer on ebay - not good.

It's not a good thing but sounds like you've been scammed out of some money, luckily it's not much money; as for getting it back is the hard part. Well to be honest you wont see it back and if you did it would only be a part insurance pay-back from your bank. And if I'm right MOD chips are always seen as 'illegal" as it's modifying copyrighted software / hardware, this sort of gives the hint BBC watchdog would not cover the case.

The only advice anyone can give, is to take it as a life lesson. If you weren't ripped of on the web it can so easily happen from a high street shop/market/car boot sale etc...

As hard as it is; I personally would just let the case drop, and look at the sites before you pay the good old sterling. Razz

Yes I take your points on board but the important thing is not to lie down and admit defeat - you have to make life at least unpleasant for these criminals - this isn't just me - it's a whole load of people who have spent their hard-earned on one goody or another and been treated like dirt and ultimately ripped off. 1 poor dude was told his "email had been gassed and burnt" as he had a Jewish-sounding name (!)

If nothing else, our experiences of such criminal sites will be made public on as many forums as possible and store review sites, so users in future have more power to choose where they shop and trust their money with.

Found this funny and kind of shocking.

From Mr.Mod Chips FAQ

No you dont understand I must speak with you urgently or else I will die
Believe me nothing in life is that important regarding a games console. If it is to you then please seek the services of someone who can sell you a life and do NOT even think of purchasing anything from this site as you are without doubt a raving psychopath who will blame me for all of your lifes problems and lack of social skills in finding an attractive mate.

This guy needs a seriously additide adjustment. I cant beleve he is still ion business. Even though i have never used his store. Thanks for the heads up. Ill make sure to post this link
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller6853.html when ever anyone asks me about this site.

Thanks Bigperm Smile

He's been doing this sh*t since *at least* Jan 2005 - in the UK it looks like his ISP is Pipex - I have sent them an email with links to his threats/abuse/racism/scamming so maybe they will take a look at him.

http://www.pipex.co.uk/otherservices/contactus/

I got some support from someone ripped off by him who actually lives in Bristol - so maybe they can visit his wonderful premises Very Happy

I wonder if any of the mod chip places have good ratings on reseller ratings. Not to be the cynic but i have yet to see a mod chip site that i am comfortable with giving my CC #. Even the best templates don't make up for lack of proper grammar/english everyone i have seen looks like they uploaded a CMS and typed in 4 categories and uploaded company logo.gif, then didn't bother to spell check or ever read it again.

I would really like to get the DS-Xtreme as well, but it is just fucked up when the manufacturer of the DS-X suggests to the buyer to buy from bad sites. To me, that says a lot.

PS
Not saying i reply to posts with perfect grammar but when i make a web page there is no doubt i have gone ever 80 times and had friends check it out as well. My sites aren't even business related.

My ResellerRatings account was hacked today by <guess who> - the true review of the behaviour by MrModChips which was very critical was hacked into to a "very satisfied" version:-

"1/21/06 4:32 PM
Order #23712 (PreOrder)
Order Date: Friday 03 November, 2006 Order Total: £80.48
Delivery Date: Got it
Products
1 x DS-XTREME 4Gb £74.99
1 x USB Power Charge Cable For NDS Lite £2.99

I ordered the DS-X 4Gb cart on 3rd Nov and unit was in my hands by the 6th of november.

I love this website and i would never ever go anywhere else to buy anything.

Mrmodchips you are the best and i would willingly bear your children"

I am *still waiting* for the DS-X which I ordered when it was on their website as "in stock" and "available" on *Nov 3 2006*.

In addition they hacked and deleted my account with modchipstore and I have been incontact with them as well.

The positive review of modchipstore was hacked to a very foul and abusive version. I emailed the admin of ResellerRatings and got this response:-

############
,

MrModChips has done this before - logging into a ResellerRatings user
account to modify their review. But in the past, we assumed they were able
to do this because the ResellerRatings user used the same password at our
site as they did at the MrModChips site to place their order.

You're saying that you used a unique password for ResellerRatings, implying
that they were in fact able to hack our site to modify your review. But if
that were true, wouldn't they have also hacked us to modify the reviews for
users mhop74, ceefw, Jayz0r, polynotre, etc, all of whom left Very
Dissatisfied reviews?

There are a couple ways I can think of that they obtained your
ResellerRatings password.

1) If you copied your ResellerRatings password into your copy and paste
cache (highlighted it, Ctrl-C) and then visited the MrModChips site, there
is javascript code that can lift and save anything from your keyboard cache.

2) If your password was easy to guess (). Can you tell me
what your ResellerRatings password was?

FYI, MrModChips threatened us a year or so go, mailbombed us, and did at
least one denial of service attack. They are bad news.

Thanks,

ResellerRatings Staff

Subject: RR General: my account has been hacked

From:

my account has been hacked into - of my reviews have been modified - the
one criticising the criminal site MrModChips was modified to be very
favourbale - and the one praising modchipstore.com was modified to be foul
and abusive. please look into this matter with urgency I used a strong pwd on your site
that is only stored in my paper notebook - so I have *no idea* how my
account was hacked into on your site - it is quite disturbing

I can no longer modify my account to change the password.

In summary AVOID MRMODCHIPS LIKE THE PLAGUE
