Then also people will need to give good advise because there are several people who have problems with spontanious reboots of the system. Anyone knows a fixx for this problem? And if the error accurs with kinda of videocard do you have. Mine is having problems of rebooting with a GF5600.

@ winston, with the latest drivers, it sould work. as u have em, the ony prob can be hardware. Tuned GPU? CPU?

Hello, when i installed the game from my 4 cds that ive got from my buddie it doesnt start? I mount cd one in A-120% before i did that the game freezes... but now it just come a message "doesnt answere" it says what should i do???
I wanna play !!!

Worked for me...I hope this little guide I found works for you too.

How to get Sims2 to run.
If you have Alcohol120% installed do the following -
Under emulation untick all 3 ie;
ignore media...
launch ....
RMPS ....
Under extra emulation untick all 3, ie;
Bad sectors ....
Sub Channel ....
Laserlock ....
Set Virtual Drive to 0 (zero) and exit the application.
Some people have reported Clonecd to be the problem, so if none of the above work for you try uninstalling clocnecd, it is clear that emulation is being detected.
If you don't have Daemon tools installed do so now and reboot when asked, make sure you have the latest version that contains an XP-SP1 fix.
Right click the toolbar icon for Daemon tools and point to emulation, make sure Safedisc is ticked.
Right click the icon again and select virtual Cd/DVD (drive) and select Device 0, then mount image. Browse to your Sims2 image files and mount sims2_1.CCD
Enjoy the game.

This game works fine for me,
But when my sim watches tv its in english but when he talks on the phone its not in english,
Does anyone know if you can get the sims to speak english on the phones..?

Right. But I have the build from France so my characters sound French. Does anybody know how to change it. Even if they can't sound American, it is just that French is so annoying.

i dont know in which scheme to burn it...safe disk 2\3 or what??????

they are NOT speaking french or any other language!
the sims are speaking SIMLISH!!!! it sounds funny and reminds many different languages!

It works without any crack, I mount the isos on Alcohol 120% and all works fine.

My game still freezes after a few moments!
Is there a solution for that? I have tried both Daemon and Alcohol the latest version but noooo.

That is cause you are using a crack. If you don't have the space for an image or got the Money version, go to gamecopy world and download the mini image. It works like a real image except its small (has no Sims2 data just emulated the CD Check OK I guess.)
And alternative is also BT (the NoCD workaround download.)

use a program called fraps ( www.fraps.com ) it takes a bmp tho.. hope that helps. |

Ok, The default folder for the pics and videos and all that is in:
C:\Documents and Settings\<name>\My Documents\EA Games
Though because of limited space I have to move it over to my 2nd drive....
I tried to look in the regeditor after the values and the default path... But i have come to that conclusion that it isnt the keys in the reg editor that judge where our sims folder on C:\ is located... So i tried to move the folder away from the original position: C:\Documents and Settings\<Name>\My Documents\EA Games To a 2nd Hdd and tried to launch the game... But the folder gets created again... In the exact same position...
So what is controlling the default path of the "fan" folder for sims 2?...
Please help :S

--- FOUND A SOLUTION TO PLAY THE GAME FROM CD ---
So i wanted to be able to play that game from disk or without any files from HDD needed.
And that's what I did and what you should give a try:
Copy the whole disk 1 via explorer on your HDD into a folder
Also add a subfolder (crk or so) containing one of the miniAlcs from xxx.gameburnworld.com
Then burn the whole shit with N3ro on a CD and label it "Sims2_1"
(Installation just worked fine, no problems at all)
Mount the miniAlc-file (.mds) in Alcohol120 from the CD (burned before)
And then just start the game and there... IT WORKS
Well I know it's not a real crk, but at least you won't need any files from your HDD anymore and therefore it's also a kind of backup.
