How much can you overclock the E660?
I have now tried to set it at 2,6 GHZ, and it seems to run stable so fa with stock cpu fan.

How much temp does the E660 handle before it goes whacky?

I'm a real noob when it comes to overclocking, sorry Razz

With stock cooler you can reach 3ghz with good memory and mobo. but it will be hot.
From what i read, dual cores can go to 90Celsius before frying. But the system will reboot way before, around 80. Heat concern is even more important with dual cores. Importance of a good cooler choice in term of heat/noise is a MUST if you overclock. a zalman 9500 for socket 775, priced at 70$, is a good cheap choice to consider. Good thermal paste (such as artic 5) and proper installation is needed if you go the air cooler route.
Otherwise go fo watercooling. You can even get cases specially made with cooling system. (check the thread talking about cases).

I'm running mine at 3Ghz with the stock cooler. The max temp I get is 50 Celcius the same as before the overclock.

i7 3770k, GTX980, 16GB Ram, SSD Raid0, Internet 3rd world shit not worth mentioning

pushed my e6600 on an abit AW9d "non-max" from default 2.4ghz to 3.6 /1.375Vcore -chipset voltage at 1.55 (default 1.5). Ram is running 1:1 at 800mhz with 4.4.4.12 timings/gskill pc800. I think it would be possible to go much further as my processor seems to be very frugal in terms of vcore settings but 3.6 is more then enough for me as it doesn't seem to limit my 8800gtx anymore.
Low vchm at 400mhz is achhieved due to watercooling on the northbridge. Cpu temps idle: 35°C for both cores (values taken from core temp)- load Orthos dual core prime after 4h: 56°C (Cooler Waterchill Antarcitica/ Northbridge cooler: chipset waterchill cooler).
@rubberchicken: if you wanna do some serious oc i would advise you to consider buying a watercooling system- it isn't so expensive and it's worth every penny nowadays since thermal issues are the main problem when it comes to overclocking.
