How are you guys getting it to work? I patched to 1.01 and now I can't get the game to start. I'm pulling my hair out over here!

Oi, I really cannot stand checkpoints...especially if it's a REALLY long level. I get to the mines, and they don't give me a check point..what happened to save anywhere you want? I miss that. And why am I killing Mexicans in R6V?

Same as you here, I've installed the 1.01 patch and the normal YASU method wouldn't work anymore... I also tried copying those .exe files from the DVD itself and the games works but when I am in the game things are wrong... (eg. when I start my game it does not shows how much ammo I've got and just keeps saying there is no ammo for my guns which is not possible because I can still fire bullets out of my guns!!) Anyway, does anyone have a fix for this patch? I'm using a laptop and I can't really disconnect my dvd drive... Plz tell us what we need to do in order to play 1.01... If not, I think I'm just going to reinstall and use version 1.00 again...

I installed the patch, it tells me not to use a backup cd, and to use the orignal

I'm having no problem using yasu and the new patch. Try a reboot if you have not already.

Control Panel ---> System ---> Hardware ---> Device Manager
However, won't people without SATA drives likely have their HDD's on the Primary IDE controller?

maksin01, you are disabling the controller that has the DVD drive(s) on it. In my case that is secondary since the primary contains the hard drive.

You can also use SFnightmare > Disable node > Disable CD > close SFN, then YASU and launch the game

I do get better performance with my 8800, however, it seems I'm stuck at 30fps instead of higher. If I look at the sky, sure it goes to 60, but just drops to 30 after that. Just a bit weird is all. I don't think it's this game at all, Condemned was the same way too, constant 30 in most places, and spikes up to 60 some places...

Well the IDE trick works here...I am not sure if its cause I have a nforce4 mobo. Reading back a bit, looks like it might

Disabling the secondary IDE controller or whatever worked for me. Never tired multi before 1.01, but LAN over Hamachi doesn't work. Games don't show up.
Also, my dumb fuckass squad won't remove their silencers when I do anymore for some reason.

Actually I've tried lan over hamachi this morning and it works. However, it only works for a few minutes before the game crashes everytime. You need to have the same version of the game as the person hosting the game in order to join it but don't bother with it now since the multiplayer of this game is f**ked up atm until another patch comes out to fix it.

For those who are too lazy to go back a few pages, this work on 1.1 for me, but I also did it for my physical drives (not just daemon):

Another thing I found out, I don't know if it's because i'm playing in 1280*1024 with the modified .bin but the look sensibility up/down seemed much higher than left/right and I had trouble with it, so I went in the options and set x sens to 7 and left y sens to 5 (giving another ratio) and it seemed much better. Lowered the global mouse sens too.

I've got a Asrock Dual mobo with ULi chipset. The trick with disabling the controller works for me aswell.
Then again, FPS gain was about zero. I tried turning off that bloom/hdr/bullshit thing; and it looked like I got better FPS in the beginning, now it' still runs unreasonable at certain areas.
That sucks!

If u get most of the time 30fps and sometimes 60fps, it's just because u have the VSync option ON. Disable it in the options menu

Btw, you don't need to reboot when you disable/enable the primary DVD-rom, right?
