Would someone please sum up the new features of TES 4? As I do not live in the US, I cannot simply buy Game Informer magazine, which seems to have the world exclusive info on this game.

That's really great news!
I'm a big fan of the elder scrols seires, and if they would do something similar to Morrowind with better gfx it's going to rock!
This one is 1st on my list.

Let just hope they dont spoil it by making it online.
Which i doubt they will very much as 99% of people on the forum dont want it.
Still looks good, not as good as Morrowind (i dont mean the graphics) but the gameplay..which is the most important part of a game IMO
If anyone has that mag a few screenies would be nice

Morrowind was great, but not from the begining without any of mods perhaps, some which makes the graphics and gameplay 10 times better. The mod community for this game is totaly incredible! I hope that trend continues with the next Elder Scrolls.
The graphics in MW was far ahead of it's time and looks great even to this day (unlike games like Neverwinter Nights which looks like total CRAP, and even looked like shit when it was released).

The graphics look absolutely fucking insane!
I wonder what PC you'll need to be able to run it at full detail. As it's coming out for the Xbox 2 not the first Xbox.

Imagine fallout with those graphics...
Its kinda disappointing that they won't be able to use that fantastic vegetation effects they've implented in TES4 in the new fallout game... everything being sand and ash!

I think Morrowind was almost perfect, and with some sligh tweaking they can make a super game.I just hope they won't change too much and spoil the successful formula.

I hope they change the look of the world to more along the lines of daggerfall. I didn't like how everything looked... organic?!?!
More interactivity would be nice and a greater sense the world is alive.

afaik the world is going to be less organic... more "classic" fantasy style than morrowind. Though I like the idea that those weird enemies from morrowind are still going to be the tes4, charakters were imho really well designed (its said that the enemies from morrowind wolrd are going to invade the new wolrd in tes4).
More infos: The fights will be a lot more dynamic. More action focused, and bloodier as well. You'll get special moves etc.
The world isn't going to be quite as big as morrowind, though it will still be huge, especially compared to all the other 3d rpgs around. Viewing distance will be enormous.
NPCs have gothic2 style AI. They have their own daytime routine, and they remember whytever you do. There AI reactions will also be presented more graphically than in morrowind.
The game will focus on Charakter charakter development, I think its said that he can become evil similiar to fable (including according ai reactions)
You can ride several animals
first person perspective is default, you can play as in morrowind 3d person as well.
they're trying to make it more accessable for new players and keep the old complexity at the same time... (I hope they do that right, 'cus ion storm said the same about deus ex 2... *shiver*)
rpg system will stay same in the basics (you train your skills by using them)
The game features similiar charakter expression effects like hl2...

The NPC's were static, had poor ai and the chat wasn't exactly something to remember either. Bloodmoon was an improvement though.
Anyway i ain't gonna carry on, it had it's flaws but i still loved exploring the ruins and finding out about the dwemer. I complain about it, but i still ENJOYED it |
Erm, those problems are present in almost every RPG, except it's from a different perspective. Its your choice whether you decide to use magic in combat or just melee attacks.
The only RPG where NPC's do anything other then stand around for most of the time is Gothic 1 and 2.
In case you think I really like morrowind, I actually found it rather boring, especially the NPC interaction. But I do think it's unfair to single it out for flaws that most RPG's have, just because it's played from a first person view.

Yeah, I like to see my character with all his armor on looking like a badass, it's nice to visually see the progress of your character rather then just numbers saying +10 armor.
I think fable has taken this to the next level with different stats actually changing your characters appearance, hopefully this will be expanded on and incorporated into future RPG's.
