I haven't read the book, but I will watch the movie for sure. Gilliam isn't your ordinary filmmaker.

Well this one mother of a bizarre film, and i mean BIZZARE!.
I would not say its typical Gilliam, but...it ain't a typical film either. If ur in to the morbid and plain psychotic (maybe reading the book helps, cause i didn't) this film might be for you.

Why is this movie good?
Hmmm. Gilliam doesn't really do GOOD movies. It's his style that makes them good. This movie is seriously fucked up. Its style is soo of the wall. The story is so off the wall. It's like having a choice to see this, brazil or fear and loathing, you'll obviously go for loathing and brazil and then you'll see this and you'll go... what the fuck?
Seriously. This movie is 10 kinds of cool. And it is good. For what it is. The style is simply mesmerizing.

Thing is with Gilliam is that hes not afraid to try "different" stuff.
Brazil was for me hes prime film, then I guess 12 Monkeys. Worst, well, they say Baron Munchausen... I found it "verry" Gilliam and not bad at all, not hes best but not bad. Time Bandits was a long time ago but still...verry Gilliam. Embarrassing to say I haven't seen "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" yet...getting it as we speak. WaldoJ just reminded me that I promised my self to watch it long time ago, cheers man.
